Was just listening to Pete's post practice press conference and he said that Lane is being held out right now out of caution but he will be practicing when they come back to practice after the game this week.

Also said several guys (Baldwin and Lockett to name 2) will be held out on Sunday for precautionary reasons.

No real surprise there. Anybody who got a sliver during the week of the first preseason game would get held out.

Yup...besides, the first game is mostly to see the young guys and new guys play.

I honestly think Shaq Griffin has more upside than Lane at this point-I won't be surprised if he eventually takes over his spot at RCB-Lane was torched so badly last year

I am also firmly in that boat. I want to see Russ throw to McKissic and david moore. Hand off to Carson. I know what Rawls, Lacy, and Procise can do. Those guys BARELY need a tune up. I need to see these "young bucks" get some snaps.

The cut down days were changed this year, right? Thought I read something about that.

Yes, just one cut down to 53 after preseason games are complete.

Lane was also coming off of 2 major injuries. I'll give him a 1 year pass, Kearse however has no such excuse.

I doubt you see that. Like Russ those guys need to flash on their own and flash big because none of them are Patrick Meholmes for example. They have no leash given at best we carry five and Reece but more realistically four and Reece. And probably carry six wide receivers maximum.

My gosh that photo is awful. I had never seen that either. He was so solid and dependable before the injury. I just hope he can somehow regain his prior form.

Seeing it on replay a lot I can understand his time in trusting it and or protecting it subconscious and consciously, it take a while to not think about something like that.

And he was in TC until this latest soft tissue injury setback. From Pete:

“Jeremy Lane had a fantastic offseason,” Carroll said. “He made a big shift in his mentality and his approach. He is so serious, he studied so much. He has applied himself in his conditioning work, his strength work, his focus on the field. He has been fantastic. You ask anyone in the program and they will tell you Jeremy Lane is on fire right now. I think he sees the opportunity and he wants to go for it and he wants to own it and we couldn’t ask for more. He is off to a great start and he looks fantastic.

The Super Bowl itself wasn't the same after that play either.
Simon got roasted the rest of the game
