"And brace yourself for DK Metcalf to become this week’s Kupp, the subject of plenty of chatter. Enterprising general managers are reaching out to Seattle Seahawks GM John Schneider, as they have in the past. Seattle has two other quality wideouts, and Metcalf’s contract makes him the most obvious to deal — if any wide receivers are to be dealt — but interested parties aren’t optimistic. Metcalf is one of Schneider’s favorite players, and at 4-4, the Seahawks remain in the playoff hunt despite losses in three of their past four games. But widespread injuries have increased demand for receiving help, and the deals already made have diminished the supply. With a rookie coach, Seattle is looking for long-term assets, so if nothing else, Schneider will have plenty to mull."

For the shit that I've given DK over the past couple of years - I never wanted him gone.

I just wanted him disciplined.

I hope he stays a hawk.

I don’t want to trade Dk but if we had to would a package for Amari Cooper and Myles Garrett and maybe a 3rd round pick be feasible?

Maybe dumb cause we’d have to resign Garrett I think but I’d love to have him on our line and I think Cooper would be a nice fill in for DK, and at least still getting to pick a player in the draft.

DK might not be enough for that…

I understand why teams would be reaching out for DK, but it'd be pretty dumb to do it now, as we'd probably be getting pennies on the dollar. I'm against trading him period, but if we were, wait until the offseason. It's not like he's an impeding free agent.

First off, Cooper and Garrett are employed by different teams. Also, as much as I love DK, Garrett has much more value than he does. Asking them to throw in things IN ADDITION to Garrett is straight lunacy. Also, why would the 2-6 Browns even be interested in something like this?

Only trade DK if we are going for a total rebuild. It's very sad that DK is the only big time tradable asset that we have.

I've been mostly quiet about the whole trade DK thing but this is where I stand:

Teams are reaching out to JS, meaning they're most likely offering fair or over-fair value; It's a lot different if John has to reach out to others. Also, if it's going to take a little while for Mike's team to gel and actually get their shit together, we might as well get some trade value for him and let Mike get more of his guys so we reach that point sooner and for less $$$.

I'm not a DK hater, but I'm open to the idea of trading him to make the team a little better long-term. This might be a hot take but I think we've seen his ceiling on this team.

Oh yeah cooper got traded. And I thought about the browns record. Garrett is on his last year though and the browns are selling. Plus it was wishful thinking, as I said DK would not be enough and I said “a package”, but thanks for the insight rat

Maybe I'm not looking at this the right way, but why is it unlikely that we're not just getting lowball offers from teams hoping to take advantage of our recent struggles to see if they can get a deal on a good player they speculate might not be in our long term plans?

Some reports say the wr market is thin, maybe DK is looked at better than you think outside Seattle and maybe John’s reluctance and haggling skills are building up the bidding. DK is better than where we drafted him and he’s the strongest wr in the NFL. Who knows what teams are offering but if they think John doesn’t want to trade him then low balling would be a waste of time, maybe the comments about multiple offers is just another play at strengthening his market, who knows…

Im sure he's looked at fantastically outside Seattle. I'm not making that argument at all.

In-season trades don't tend to draw enormous compensation. I'm guessing there haven't been serious trade talks and some opportunistic GMs are just making inquiries hoping to get a good deal based on our situation.

To me, trading DK is throwing in the towel this season, unless it provides a replacement for his production (be it WR or OL to help bolster the run game). Otherwise, it just seems goofy.

If this season is considered DOA and that help comes in the offseason via re-signed aquisitions or draft picks, that's fine too. But again, that's saying the season is done at the trade deadline.

I just don't see it.

In the past I have been outspoken against DK, didn’t agree with the contract he signed and feel he is over rated due to his size and athletic ability, he isn’t even the best WR on the team

If JS gets offered a 1st rd pick I would take it which I don’t think is going to happen
