I'm not against trading him if it makes the team better. But Lockett is long in the tooth, so we are not really that deep at receiver long term. And I don't know how long the draft is going to continue churning out all these good receivers, seems like it goes in stages.

Overall, I want him on our team. But this team has many other areas of need pretty desperately also so not against it for the right deal. Not sure what that would be though.

It signals giving up on this year and I can’t see that happening when you’re still in the mix. If a team is trading for him they think their current roster can compete for a SB so they’re not going to give up pieces that are vital to that ala offensive lineman.

There isn't a team out there that's one great receiver away from a Super Bowl. That's what you would need in order to get really good compensation for DK. Maybe the Chiefs were before they traded for Hopkins. But the Chiefs' first rounder is almost a second rounder, anyway. Of course, the 49ers need a WR with Aiyuk gone for the season, but no chance we're trading DK to San Fran regardless of the compensation.

Im sure he's looked at fantastically outside Seattle. I'm not making that argument at all.

In-season trades don't tend to draw enormous compensation. I'm guessing there haven't been serious trade talks and some opportunistic GMs are just making inquiries hoping to get a good deal based on our situation.
You're right, but one reason in-season trades don't draw a lot of compensation is because it's typically last year of their contract players. so it's only a half a season and they have to resign them. That is not the case with DK this year so we would likely get more compensation.

I don't want to trade DK but if we can get a very good offer then it would be hard to not pull the trigger.

With the recent trades for WRs, we are not going to get what we want for DK. His trade value will be higher in the upcoming off-season then it will be now

No way we trade him. I just dont see us being that desperate to trade him for low value. And for the record if we did i think it would be a mistake.
At this point I agree. I know I've been pretty vocal about DKs flaws ( he does have them) but it wouldn't make sense. The return wouldn't equal what he does bring to the team.

My question is what would it take ? Everyone has a price .

He's closing in on 30 years old and is going to want top WR money for his next deal .

If DK were part of a package that brought in either Lawrence, Simmons, or Garrett, I'd absolutely look into trading him.

For the going rate at WR? No. DK is worth more to this team than a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
