I don't know. Thats like saying Steve Young was overrated when he was with the Bucs.

Right player, wrong system, wrong coaching.

He was always extraordinarily capable. People just couldn't see it because of how bad the system made him look.

Nobody looked good in that defense. Not even B Wags.

My memory of Brooks when he was here was that he was a solid player, good roster piece, but not a big play difference maker. I distinctly remember always being a little surprised by his tackle totals because almost none of them stuck out to me. I wasn't particularly phased at the time when we weren't aggressive about bringing him back. Even now I'm kind of surprised that he's a first team All Pro, but then again I haven't spent much time watching the Dolphins play. Good for him, though.

$17.1 million APY plants him firmly in the top echelon of NFL linebackers, where he belongs. He wasn't the kind of flashy player that attracts a lot of attention, but if you watched him closely, you could see that he was a very good player who could only do so much with the situation in which he found himself. I wouldn't want him over EJ4, but would have loved to see them in the same backfield under MM.

NGL, I'm intrigued at how Miami is building their defense. Brooks is gonna be playing alongside Jacob Rodriguez, and then they got Chris Johnson in the secondary...They could be sneaky good.

I only just saw this, but it's a little validating since I saw him the same way NoGain did. Not bad, probably falling a bit short of a second contract with us but hardly a first-round bust.

Better player than many gave him credit for. Glad the Hawks didn't give him a huge contract, but happy for the guy. Always seemed like a stand up dude.
