i think the 9ers trade benefits the style seahawks like to play. a big 6'4 sub 4.5 reciever is a good match up for B.Browner and Sherm i think smaller, faster, shifty recievers will cause more problems. While i think Jenkins would've been shut down he did have potential to do more damage than Baldwin.

The critiques I've seen written about him so far is, he's not physical at all, even for that size.

Not worried.

Think Baldwin has problems with drops now? Wait till he hears the footsteps of the LOB coming at him.

I sensed something like this trade was going to happen.

The Whiners players and FO were just propping up the puppet that is AJ Jenkins.

He won't be Kaep's first read so the Seahawks don't need to worry about him.

I doubt Baldwin will be a problem for the Seahawks, but Jenkins would have matched up terribly against Seattle. He deals poorly with press coverage and physicality, so our CBs would be kryptonite to him. When you consider that Jenkins is more Clark Kent than Superman, it's a trifle unfair.

Jenkins is his own kryptonite.

But I thought Harbaugh had a plan with Jenkins and he was going to explode this season and show all of us how we were wrong and how great the 49ers FO really is...

Neither one is a threat to our secondary. Baldwin might not even get activated, just like Jenkins.

Oh, and it's funny how Jenkins got a "seal of approval" before he got shipped out.

That's what I heard too when I told 49ers fans that Jenkins was a bust last year.

When you draft a WR in the first round, you at least get him on the field at some point to get some experience. He sat on the bench just about every game. Even when they needed help at WR. There was obviously more to it than "we're saving him for next year" and "we're so good we don't need him yet". Turns out, he just sucks.

Meanwhile Kearse and Williams look awesome.

It would suck to be a Niner fan and see the Seahawks developing Kearse and grabbing Williams from waivers while they can't find a suitable receiver even in the 1st round of the draft.

Our #5 (6 if you count Harvin) receiver would be their walk on #2 and by a large margin. Not much different than our secondary for that matter.

Don't think I will ever understand the pundits that try and sell the Niners as the deepest roster in the league. That team is in desperation mode in more than one position and have huge question marks on depth all over the field if they lose any starters they are likely done for.

Pundits are always late to the party and then ride that pony way too long. It will always be that way.

I don't understand their thinking on the niners either. How can anyone know what kind of depth they have? None of their depth has ever played.

Not a chance I would trade our WR/TE for your WR/TE. I think we(Niners) have what they call a pair and a spare at pretty much every position. Your secondary is better, however our front 7 is much better than yours(it's not even close).

The secondaries are far from close.

Although the Seahawks secondary is better than the Niners secondary, I don't think the difference is very dramatic. Stats back this up.

Edit: Stats actually say the Niners have a better secondary, although I would rather have the Seahawks secondary.

Clearly you didn't watch Sean Smith absolutely manhandle Jenkins at the line. If he couldn't get away from Smith, how was he gonna get away from Sherman/Browner?

Its not that I think Baldwin will be great, I'm just not sure how he could possibly be worse.
