Anyone else catch him saying that one reason why the Hawks are doing so well is due to their health? I guess with 60% of our OL out and the top 2 receiving threats in Rice and Harvin out as well I am not sure what he considers injured. Have always liked his analysis but this just showed he had no idea.

It was just an ignorant comment by a guy who doesn't care about the Seahawks.

Think he is still in the "how bout them cowgirls" mode.

I posted on my fb "Hearing Jimmie Johnson repeatedly say how "healthy" the Hawks are is like hearing someone say how sunny and warm Antarctica is."

I think he was trying to say our depth is better than their depth but kind of jimmy johnson'd himself.

Yep, your typical media idiot that fails to do his homework.

I didn't catch it, are you sure he wasn't talking about our defense, which has been fortunate enough to be pretty healthy?

They did a good job of saying that the Seahawks are playing great inspite of their injuries.

Impressed with Lynch and the play-by-play guy. Only big error was when they said it was Trufant with the coverage on Tate on the TD at the end of the 1st half when it was their other rookie CB #23 (Trufant is #21).

He wasn't talking about our defense; he was referring to our whole team.
It was a typical clueless statement by a typical clueless national media guy trying to sound authoritative and informed when he hasn't done his homework and has no idea of the accuracy of what he's saying.

When he said that, I wrote him off as a total national media idiot. I didn't catch the looks from the other guys, as I was only half-watching while fully listening. I wouldn't have been surprised by Howie Long reacting to such an obviously idiotic statement; I'd be more surprised if he didn't.

In hindsight, agreed, the announcers did do a very serviceable job. My "fan eval" system for them is sort of like the refs (and offensive linemen)--if, after the game, you can't recall any huge idiot statements (blown assignments), and everything that stuck in your mind was more about the game and the key plays, then they did a good job. Bonus points if you can remember their names and recall a couple of their good calls (or insightful analysis) during the game that enhanced the excitement and memorability of a key play or two.

I can recall John Lynch and the play-by-play guy going over Thurmond's strip of Harry Douglas, and breaking it down, and discussing how defensive players work on that. The call on the end-of-first-half Tate TD must have been OK too, because I recall the excitement of the play, without being overly aware of the announcers' call of it.
I thought they handled the questionable reffing calls reasonably well too, like the bogus call on Bennett's sack of Ryan as a personal foul.

Jimmy makes the FOX studio shows impossible for me to watch. Guys on that show have so much football history yet say the dumbest things.
