WOAH there Ron. SLOOWWWW down!!! LOL!!
Kaep has a long way to go to even be CONSIDERED among the best 49ER QBs, let alone the league.
No sheeit!
Kaep isn't even the second best QB SF has had. Montana was the model QB come game time, no one disputes this. Then of course there was that Steve Young guy who could run like crazy and sling it like Brady.
10 NFL games and that kind of assessment? Jaws... drugs are bad... mmmmmkay.
*If* there is a comparable QB record (regarding the limited sample size of 10) it would be Marino. Everybody predicted Marino, after he went to the superbowl with a limited sample size of 18, that he would be in the superbowl again sooner or later, but he never made it back. That could happen to Colin. It could be those 10 games are just it, and the rest of his career, he's going to be average.
But the simple fact that both Marino and Colin took their respective teams to the superbowl. To do that you have to have the intangibles and the physical ability to do so. Not every brand new QB starter takes their team to the superbowl. Also even though Marino never went back to the superbowl - he only had one losing season in his entire career, and did make the playoffs numerous times. The other interesting part of the debate is -- is the superbowl *loss* Kaep's floor or is it his ceiling?
