J-Rod trying too hard?

For the last couple of weeks at least, it looks like he's trying to smash the stitching off the ball when he swings rather than just making contact, an approach that seems to lead to a higher strike-out rate. Concerned that he thinks he needs to be a superstar every at-bat, when he doesn't. Wonder if he'd have more hits if he focused more on just making contact. Just wondering out loud in a new thread...

Every young player goes thru it. He crushed that ball that should have been a double play in the 9th. I'm not worried about Julio. Shoot, him and France were 0-20 combined the last 2 games. I suspect they'll come out of it. Could be more them not being close to 100 percent, even if they say they are.
Also, he has been SHAFTED out of 2 home runs. One last night and another vs. Texas.
