Is there still a scenario...

Best thing is to sit a lot of starters against the Rams, and lose the game. Why make the playoffs, we need the edge of the better draft position. IF you want a good Seahawk team, it starts with a great draft, and that means closest to number 1 you can get.
Since we are out of it we need to play Sam to see what we have. If they don’t hand writing is in the wall to bring Gino back.

But I am curious why fans who don't see things a particular way (possibly your way?) are delusional? Isn't everyone's Fandom (perspective, etc) simply different?
Holding a stupid opinion on something isn't tenable just because it's "different".

If anyone has any actual evidence that "momentum" from a game against the backups of a demotivated team is important eight months later, I'd be open to hearing it.

At this point, the culture has been established. Taking a game to see what the younger guys have doesn't undermine it in the slightest. Those snaps are going to mean a lot more to them than the critical, highly-paid players we don't want to see snap an Achilles and put next season in doubt. It's something we see teams do every year.

Watching Kyler Murray throw away our season on that overthrown ball instead of just handing the ball off up the middle felt about as bad as any football moment I've ever experienced.
We lost against the ******* #1 seed in the next Draft and Kyler throw away our season… hahaha
We will lose again next week against the lambs

I'm with you on the reasoning for the momentum and culture ideas.

Labeling them as stupid ideas is just as much simply an opinion of another fan's view as is the use of the term "delusional." I guess I'm just not a fan of derogatory labels for a fan that may struggle with a team choosing to lose a game for any reason.

Stop getting your hopes up. It will not happen. You have a better shot at winning the lottery. Seahawks are a bad team. Why get embarrassed in the playoffs.

You know it's gotten bad when if we have to rely on the Cardinals

As I’ve said from the beginning, this team is two years away as long as whoever the quarterback is in two years from now is good.

So you're saying there's not a chance when there really is a chance. I can see why you'd want to post a Dumb and Dumber meme with that.

He's not wrong though so i'm not sure why your being bitter towards him. I guess mathematically there's a chance of a miracle, but realisticly,,,,,,,no. The season is over.

I'll let the more practical fans root that way. I just can't.

What exactly are you rooting for though? Even if the seas split and they somehow made the playoffs, what are your expectations? The team isn't good.

I personally wouldn't point to winning culture and momentum as reasons for carrying at all about winning in week 18.

If it were your fantasy football team, and the draft next year is dependent on drafting say in the 14th hole, or in the 20th is on the line. Say, this league is for money, at what point do you plan for next year. If you win one game in the playoffs, or god forbid win 2 then get slaughtered for lack of talent? When I go play craps at the casino, and I am good at winning. Some nights "the tide is out", and I lose say $100. Believe me, that is a bad night. I usually come home up $2 or $3 hundred. It is not uncommon to win a grand. When you are losing, you quit. Don't throw good money after bad, is all I am saying.

I'm not bitter towards anyone. Just expressing a different opinion.

I try to be optimistic and hopeful until there is zero chance. I enjoy watching the team play and will value any opportunity for one more game.

The many, many years as a Hawks fan have led me to the place where I try to find optimism and hope in the smallest of things with the team. Even when the team has had low win seasons I would root and hope for a win every single game.

It's difficult for me to ever be a "don't try, throw in the towel, choose to lose" kind of fan no matter what the situation or season looks like.

I appreciate your different perspective. There nothing wrong with yours. And there's nothing wrong with mine. I'm simply coming from a place as a fan that I could never support choosing to throw in the towel or lose.

The Cardinals had nothing technically to play for last night but they played trying to win. Not to wave the white flag and look to next year. I'm good with that.

I would root for the team to win in whatever game they played. Just like I always do.
