Is Kubiak exposing his playcalling (Not covering his mouth)?

I came across this rando's tweet




Which got me to thinking that yeah I also noticed that Kubiak doesn't make any effort to cover his mouth when calling plays (or at least that's what I always see whenever the TV broadcast pans to him).

It's like the "tipping your pitches" thing where the batter knows what's coming.

Not sure if that's a factor or not but if the opposing side can read lips, well...maybe he does need to go up in the booth.

Been others talking about “tells” w/Darnold.

But this make sense as a possibility as well.

Coaches cover their face for a reason, maybe it’s a real thing that they should.

I’m positive it started as some point because it got out that lip readers were relaying information.

The first guy that started doing it is probably the first guy that hired a lip reader.


But…..

It’s also why every staff has their own language for the playbook.
