To me the conclusion is that the Seahawks D doesn't have enough depth and experience (yet) to stop good offenses when missing so many starters. Obviously there is a talent drop-off. MikeMac and his scheme are new to a lot of the guys on D. So, when Hawks are missing 6 defensive starters, even if their replacements aren't as talented or athletic, at least they're less experienced. Oops.

So it's up to JS and MMac to bring in and/or develop capable depth at each position, Next Man Up.

Excuses.

I can tell you they would have still likely won because they have a track record of a hairs breadth of being in the Superbowl last year while the Seahawks have a track record of the 30th ranked defense.

Do I think the Seahawks will have the 30th ranked D. No! Do I think they will have a top 5 D. No! It will be somehwere in between
Thank you for posting here and sharing the honest truth as you see it. Seriously. A couple plays go differently, it's a different outcome. We got/made the breaks in the previous two Lions games, Wins. But SF can for sure say that too, re AZ. A fumble in the Red Zone or a QB hit and resulting pick at the wrong time, reverses a sure W into an L. Just a comment about the crazy schitt that happens in this league, to all teams, not intended as a dig.

Have you ever seen one of those blue ice bombs filled with turds that fall from the sky when a private jet dumps its toilet?

That's what this defense reminds me of.
