No he is not losing the team, but maybe his mind a little yesterday in the second half. Just a little.

4th youngest team. The 3 teams who are younger have a win percentage of 25%.

xray, you should go to webzone. They'd love you there.
Thanks for contributing nothing again . :D

Considering you contribute nothing on a daily basis, I don't trust your judgement.
If it's a topic that interest me I at least try to contribute . I'm waiting for you to present a new topic of your very own instead of attacking others about theirs with your pompous attitude and remarks .

If you think that was an attack.... Wow. Just wow.

Watch Carroll's press conference ... the Q&A portion about what he thinks happened in that game ...he lost control of that game ...

Losing control of the X's and O's, schemes and how a game unfolds is different then "losing the team."

So if you'd like to clarify as to what you're talking about, that'd be great...........but what you're asking is far different from what Pete said in his presser, which is he was "lousy" and needs to do better in 2nd halves then he did yesterday.

What YOU'RE saying is a ridiculous notion.
LOL...ok...Carroll says he was lousy I didn't .

How do you get from "lousy" to Pete's losing the team.

Losing the team means your players no longer believe in you, play hard for you, or even listen to you, i.e. see the last eleven Browns head coaches.

So either you're confused as to what you're saying, or you're wrong. You decide. No team goes 6-2 with a HC that's lost the team.

This year has a different feel than past seasons . All the wins except the AZ game could of gone as losses . There are times during games that the Hawks seem to go AWOL . In the case of the Atlanta game ; AWOL for an entire half . Carroll knows ; like the rest of us that something is wrong ; but what ? Are his coaching philosophies losing their appeal and falling on deaf ears ?

dude, what? were the 4th youngest team in the league. Were 6-2 and 4 and 0 on the road. We haven't been 4-0 on the road since the Reagan administration. WTF are you even talking about? The defense is really bad right now and I think some of it is talent and a lot of it is on the DC, but good lord get some perspective.

Exactly why people should be stoked about the future of this team. A lot of young guys are getting valuable experience. I still believe in 2020 they end up being contenders, not just to make the playoffs but to make the SuperbOwl. I don't think he is losing the team at all, they wouldn't be at 6-2 if he was losing that team.
If anything, he's doing a good job of keeping them focused with the game on the line. Other than the Zona game, every win has been a battle down to late 4th quarter. Teams don't do that over and over again if the Coach isn't getting thru to them. .02

Every time they win, it's overraction Monday, and not in a good way.
You should see it when they lose
That being said, it's cool to have a place that you can vent about the team and talk football. We don't always get along, but it's still cool to have some back and forth about the Hawks. And it makes the week go faster.

Man I miss the good old days when this place only sucked after a loss. :sarcasm_off:

I'm the first one to admit I dwell on the negative with the Hawks a little too much. But I also understand that we've got it pretty damn good if we're complaining about a 6-2 team that's smack dab in the prime of it's existence with a HOF coach and QB.............and is perennially in the playoffs.

No doubt, I hear ya. I know I'm a homer, but for once I feel a little negative today. But, it's good to vent.
Feels a lot better to complain about a 6-2 team than back in the day. And man did we have some horrific seasons pre-Holmgren. Well, there is the Mora(n) year
Or the year before we got our season tickets, they went 2-14. So many years between 7 and 9 wins, mediocre season after mediocre season.
This team has had a hell of a nice run overall the last several years. Including 3 SuperbOwl trips in 10 seasons.

Bottom line, I think a massive portion of us would gladly have signed up for 6-2. Especially after all the turnover of huge names and all these young guys getting so much playing time, injuries etc.

If anything, Carroll is holding the team together. I mean this isn't an uber talented roster. We've got some good players (Griffin, Reed, Wright, Kendricks, Lockett, Brown, Carson) and maybe 3 great ones (Clowney, Wagner, Wilson). Then a whole bunch of youth and inexperience.
The fact that we are 6-2 is exceptional given I don't think we are any more talented than any team we've faced. So I'd say we are over-achieving. Coaches who "lose the team" don't over achieve. They lose like the Falcons are losing.

Carroll's not losing the team. I think he's losing a certain group of the fan base who are more concerned with media narratives than reality. We're in the second year of a rebuild and we're 6-2. The team is still adapting to an NFL that has figured out Pete's defense, and we're seeing the result of those growing pains on Sunday.

The thing is, Pete's always been a coach who goes against the grain. It's worked to great success in the past, but for some reasons some fans are hesitant to trust Pete now because the numbers aren't showing up on the stat sheet. Guess what? stats are meaningless, and most of the 'analytics community' is using faulty logic to justify their narratives on what is or is not the correct thing to do. The only thing that matters is wins and success in the playoffs, and since 2010 only Belichick has been better than Carroll.

Or the Browns. Tons of talent and have no idea how to win. That is very much on the head coach as much as the players. There is a team who has a coach who has lost his team.

Change Carroll to Russell and I'm with you.

Pete's processes, coaching style and his attention to detail with the way he runs the Hawk's organization is 2nd to none, but I do not think anymore that he's even an average X's and O's coach, and I've felt that way for a long time.

I think he struck lightning in a bottle by drafting Russell, and Russell's been bailing his ass out and making him look good for a long time now.

No Russell and IMO Pete might not even be here anymore. Pete might still be searching for a good starting QB, like he was before Russell with signing and trading for stiffs like Charlie Whitehurst and Matt Flynn, and he's never had success drafting QB's since Russell.
