Is anyone here true friends with any current or former Seahawk?

It would be interesting to know if anyone on this board is or was actually real friends with a current or former Seahawk. I’m not talking about hanging out with them once or twice, but actually sees or speaks with them on the regular basis.

I was friends withe the family of a former Seahawk. Got a little info here and there. Didn't share it because I didn't want to play the game of "prove it". I was friends with the family long before the player ever started college and it was just pure luck he ended up a Seahawk.

me and Leonard Williams went fishing at the same place one time… I mean, I wasn’t on his boat… But me and him we struck up quite the friendship when he was walking by. I really did get a high five though and you can see he asked for a picture… there in my profile picture. I’m sure he has it framed too. I’ll sign it for him someday.

I do like to tell people I was friends at school, and kept in contact, with Russel Wilson and became a Seahawk fan when he went to Seattle. While true my school friend got a job with Microsoft. (When speaking the spelling doesn't show).

I'm guessing from your username that he was here for a number of years and is quite beloved by most of us.

Never true friends with any current or former Seahawk but spoke either briefly or at length with many over the years. Robbie Tobeck was the most affable, Hasselbeck was great to talk to but it was the beginning of his career before the accolades and Trent Dilfer was the starting QB at the time. I wish I would have had a chance to talk to him again several years later after his Ring of Honor status.

Punter Jeff Feagles was an absolute hoot. Shared a pitcher of beer with him back in the days they were TC'ing it in blistering hot Cheney, WA under Holmgren. Perennial Pro Bowl Punter veteran who refused to comply with Holmgren's curfew, lol.

Jon Kitna was just a terrific human. Signed for all us fans waiting in the rain after a game in the Kingdome. Most players walked right by us and this was the early years of .NET and we were trying to get a signed photo for a disabled 12. He said, "I will sign for anyone." Stud. He happened to also be the star of that game.

John Randle with his brief time here was fun. Loved my Forever dog Bella which made him even cooler. Ken Lucas loved her too.



Brian Blades was all alone in the early years of the Seahawks Pro Shop for an autograph signing event that was poorly marketed. Gave me several minutes to chew the fat with him. Chill, cool dude.

Michael Sinclair, not much of a conversationalist, but that may have had something to do with me noticing him at a Kirkland DMV after his Pro Bowl 1998 season with the most sacks in the NFL. He was with his kids so I didn't want to chat him up. Just turned around and said quietly, "Big fan." He smiled slightly and nodded.

I've said it here a few times and not proud of it and it makes me cringe to this day but VP Mike Flood was showing me around the VMAC and then we bumped into Dave Brown. I didn't recognize him right away. Mike said "Don't you know who this is?" I couldn't have felt more embarrassed and I deserved it. My 12 Card was temporarily revoked that day.

None are true friends but meeting some of them along the way is pretty cool.

My friend that I used to play football with and I had the opportunity to speak with Hasselbeck after an away game. He had some sort of hand injury then and I believe was in a soft cast (he didn’t play that game). This was early on in his Seahawk tenure when Dilfer was there. My friend who was the quarterback for our team and actually taller than Hasselbeck at 6’6” was talking football strategy with him and asked him when they play cover two why don’t you just send three receivers out deep? His response was something to the effect of we want to do stuff like that, but Holmgren doesn’t trust us. He was a very cool guy to talk to. I also asked him how his brother was doing and he said to me you can ask him yourself as I didn’t even realize it, but his brother was like 10 feet away from us and we started talking to him as well. Another chill dude.

I was once hanging out in the stadium with the entire team. We shared a game together, I mainly watched while they played, but I felt we were really close. I drank beer while they had Gatorade or an IV of their favorite fluids. They won't remember me though, but it was intense hanging out Good times!

I got to meet Emmitt Smith once when I was like 13, my dad found out that he was playing golf with his father in law at the course where I live and my dad took me and my brothers to meet him and we all got a football card signed. Not a Seahawk but still one of my favorite memories

Small claim to fame on the subject...I took a community college class in Seattle and at the start (as normal) the professor said "Tell us something interesting about your self. The guy in front of me said "I played for the Seahawks".

He was like a 4th string CB. I have forgotten his name and if you heard it, you wouldn't be that impressed.

Again something not impressive, I have walked on the Seahawks field during a tour.

A bit off topic but whatever, I was at a store in North Spokane and happened to be walking behind Mark Rypien.

I will say every one who I know that has met him, has nothing but wonderful things to say about him.

However he looked back at me like I was a stalker and I thought, calm down, I am just trying to get some milk.

He is a big dude though!
