I was probably the most critical of him on this board since the day we drafted him. I said he was ridiculously raw and that he would need a ton of coaching to be someone we could depend on. All you had to do was watch his college tape with which I saw a large sampling of. Yes he had his few moments this year but my feeling on him has not changed one bit. He is a major project that was invisible today and most of the year. Not sure how everyone else feels but I don't see what others see in him. (Yes I know he was a rookie).

He will need to add a few pounds and send the off season working on his technique. Not sure I would have used our 1 on him, but he's a Hawk now so he's family. LOL. What I liked in him was he never gave up. His motor took him past the QB too many times but I'd rather have his effort than the opposite. He will ultimately be a force. I am certain.

Irvin was a non factor today and I believe that he will get better. He was put in a tough spot trying to replace Clemons. I don't like the fact that his only move is to try to beat his man to the outside and over pursue the pocket by 5 yards. He will be fine I think with more coaching and if he isn't then he will be one of the many crappy first rounds picks in Seahawk history.

He got absolutely mauled today. Most of those big runs we're right in his face.

Not a 1st, but a lot of people gave up on Tate. Not every rookie we draft can come in and break records.

He's a pass rush specialist, not an every down player. There is nothing wrong with that, but we need another player that can actually be a starter for us because Irvin clearly cannot

He was drafted to be a situation pass rusher, not sure anyone expected him to be our starting DE this year (or maybe even any year).

How about he makes the picture on my tv screen today so I know he is in the game. We have a Beast and Invisible Man on the same team.

He's light and lacks more than a fast rip and rush. He needs time he will be fine.

His first step is still phenomenal. He was working without Clem or Jason Jones. We need another monster DE and an interior pass rush. After that happens when Irvin is installed on passing downs, he will produce - I'd bank on it.

Personally, if he hits the gym hard and works with a vet or coach that can make him for than a one trick rusher, he could be a VERY special player. 8 sacks is a decent year for having limited moves. Just like Wagner, Sherman, and Lane, (not saying their one trick guys, just that they're SO young) I get excited thinking about these guys progressing going into next season.
