Would like to see some screen passes to McKissic. Guy gets to his top speed in like 3 steps. Maybe I'm wrong, but when we actually do run them, good things seem to happen.

You are butter holmes.
Or maybe our QB doesn’t read them that well.Anthony!":2sdjt4wl said:King Dog":2sdjt4wl said:Would like to see some screen passes to McKissic. Guy gets to his top speed in like 3 steps. Maybe I'm wrong, but when we actually do run them, good things seem to happen.
yes general good things do happen when we run them which is why our OC doesn't run them much

Maybe our OC is not good at calling plays. Your trolling is getting a little too obvious though you should tone it down.

Unfortunately, Prosise just hasn't worked out for us and I imagine we'll be replacing him this off season. Davis has provided a huge lift here in the interim, and so if you want to see screen passes you should be hoping he can stay healthy.

One was a center screen called back for lineman down field (timing problem), another was a well designed (I thought anyway) wide receiver screen with Mckissic going in motion (for no gain) and the other, granted, was more of a swing pass (to Mckissic), but it did gained about 10 yds.
The problem is it doesn’t matter if the OC calls enough screen passes, running plays, intermediate passes or a deep passes if the outcome is no gain, incompletion, interception, fumble or a holding call.
Once the Seahawks get behind the chains it become increasingly harder for them to utilize the few play makers they have.
The absence of any respect for a running game (and why should anyone respect their running game?) makes even passes behind, close to, or around the line of scrimmage more difficult to execute.

I will go back to what my eyes tell me. We don't disguise our playcalls enough and there is almost no rhythm to the playcalls. Bevell will wait too long to call a screen, then he will call them in bunches, then forget about them. If the run game starts out slow we abandon it completely. Too much zig when it should be zag.

I don't think McKissic and Russ have the timing down very well this year but I could see McKissic as a good third down option for us next year with another offseason. Davis, McKissic, and a rookie is probably decent competition for the position entering training camp.

On a serious note, I don't really want to see Rawls or Prosise in training camp next year. I don't like blaming players for injuries but there's just too much there to be able to count on them in September.Seymour":jnh6j88o said:What about CJ Prosise?
Well, that's the main problem with our coaching staff. It's not that they don't have a good plan on how to do stuff but that they seemingly only have one plan and are unable or unwilling to adjust to new situations and players.FidelisHawk":227ufizx said:cymatica":227ufizx said:FidelisHawk":227ufizx said:Back to the original post, I my alcohol fuzzed brain seems to recall recall three, sort of, screens being called this past game. That may be true, but without going back and logging every play he’s called for the last seven years (I’m going to do that imagine how long that post would be) it’s hard to say one way or the other.
It does seem odd though, his play calling worked effectively three, four, five years ago, but lately not at all. That simple fact would lead me to conclude there’s something (or things) else responsible for the recent decline.
