Law of Diminishing Returns. Watt is probably like the best pure football player in the NFL, but we already have a good defense.

Going to go out of the box here, I would say a player in the mold of Gronkowski or AJ Green is probably more important to this team right now.

The above post mirror's my exact sentiment also.

Offensive line would be my only other concern, but that is more about injuries than experience or skill. Hard to say which RT I would like to mentor Britt.

Maurkice Pouncey, we need a Center that can be physical in the middle and make calls.

Too bad you said current. If I could pick someone from the past, a realistic pick, not someone like Jerry Rice in his prime, I'd take someone like Porkchop Womack. For years people bitched how he was not an outstanding lineman. He was good, not great, but rock steady. How I would love to have a good offensive lineman who could line up at either guard or tackle position and be ready to play each and every game.

I just want a dependable, good line. They don't have to be outstanding, just good and play all the time. I want players that can run and pass block on a daily basis.

Watt.

I like the Gronk suggestion a lot, but I think his days in the NFL are probably numbered with all this injuries and surgeries he's had. Calvin is obviously phenomenally talented, but kinda soft. Ditto Jimmy Graham. AJ Green is a good receiver, but wouldn't have the numbers he's had if not for him playing with a 1 read QB with a pretty big dropoff to WR #2. AJ Green might not be a 1000 yard receiver in Seattle.

With Watt, he's probably the NFL's best defensive player, and he plays inside on the DL. IMO, interior pass rush is the most difficult place to land a star player in the NFL right now. And it fits a huge need for Seattle.

There's only one other player I'd even think about taking over Watt, and that's Peyton Manning. And only because Manning is so much fun to watch every weekend.

I'd say JJ Watt as he is arguably the most game changing non-qb in the league. Second would be Luck, there wouldn't be a thread asking if we should resign Luck...

Lmao, yeah okay. Clearly someone is underestimating the stupidity of people. I.e. 'should we resign Wilson?' Is actually a question that exists....
