We have done these topics previously, but I think it will be really interesting now since we appear to have chinks in the armor this season.

I really want to say Demaryius Thomas, Tyron Smith or Antonio Brown .. but I think I will go with J.J. Watt. Watt, IMO, is the most complete player in football.. and thinking of him on our defense gives me warm tingly feelings.

Interesting question.

The obvious picks are the multi-talented bruisers which would be Watt on defense and Gronk on offense.

Next, I'd go with Dez Bryant (similar to your pick of Demaryius Thomas)

There's a need for playmaking abilities that can really make the offense creative: kind of like, oh..Percy Harvin, but someone that is more coachable if the rumors are to believed.

And considering it's a player of Percy Harvin's physical ability we need, that's why I don't consider it a bad mistake that we got him. While many others consider Percy Harvin the biggest mistake in the JS/PC era, I see it as a risk that was worth taking and it just didn't happen to pay off this year. Because what if it paid off? Marshawn was a "trouble case" too that worked out pretty darn magnificently for the Seahawks. Maybe they thought Percy would have worked out too.

The other thought: It would be nice to really shore up the O-line and D-line, but that's not necessarily just a one-person deal. That might be a two year project and looking at two or three guys, not just one guy (kind of like how Dallas shored up their O-line over the last three years).

So yeah, short of it: JJ Watt is a clear and obvious pick on D. On Offense, Dez Bryant or Rob Gronkowski

Well I started out being realistic, thinking either Geno Atkins or Gerald McCoy, as we could afford those guys.

Watt would be an upgrade from both, and would make our defense almost impossible to score on. He instantly improves the run defense (not a lot to improve on, but it would get better) and create insane pressure from the inside, making both Irvin and Avril even better. I could see us giving up less than 10 points a game from here on out. If you literally can't score on a team, they have a damned good chance of winning, no matter how bad their offense is (see Ravens, Y2K).

On offense, I go with Smith or Thomas at LT. Our WRs are good enough, I think. We're deeper than last year. Our RBs are good enough. Our QB is good enough, it's the OL letting us down.

I'd say Aaron Donald /b/c he is on a rookie contract and b/c he would be the interior presence that would flush QBs to Bennett, Avril and Irvin. Also he could fit under the cap for the next 3 season and would significantly improve the D.

Since the op didn't say based on income or salary cap parameters I will say DT Suh from the Lions. He is exactly what we are missing on our D-Line and would transform our DE's from good to an absolute terror for opposing Qb's.

2. Joe Thomas- game changer for our offensive line; Okung could move to the right side or just trade him.

3. Calvin Johnson- when healthy, he's one of the most dominant pass catchers in the history of the game. The Wilson to Megatron combo would be unstoppable.

4. Gerald McCoy- best three technique pass rusher in the game.

5. Tyron Smith- another plug and play athlete who never misses games.
