So far all of our signings aside from QB are aging players with the hope of still having something left in the tank. John's rolling the dice and hoping to hit on these moves. We either hit pay dirt or we are an injury or two from having a long painful season. Not sugar coating and not necessarily saying they were bad signings, but the risk is always there..but then again playing in the NFL is always a risk regardless of age.

Lawrence maybe.
But he’s a rotational guy, not someone we’re pinning the season on

Kupp isn’t old and has plenty in the tank. He just needs to quit rolling his ankle

Just a bunch of mediocre moves to me. Darold=Meh, Kupp=Meh, Lawrence=Meh. They might be better depending on the OL but they're not a SB team and after this year Reed, Kupp, Lawrence are even more over the hill.
They are not long term moves. They are great short term moves cause we still gotta play football next year. And he took the hole we were in financially and Genoally and losing pretty much all our wide outs except the great one and JSN and backfilled it and was right back on track and in even a better capital position and in my opinion a slightly better team. They are smooth moves like ex lax baby

I'd give this off-season about 7 out of 10 so far. I'm so happy we moved on from GeNO. I think Sam will be an upgrade. Kupp and MVS will help offset the loss of DK. Demarcus Lawrence, nice. Losing out on "the two guys whose names shall not be repeated" hurt. But sign Jenkins and now we're maybe at an 8. Last step: Crush the draft.
A good draft could make this offseason a 10/10.

Better hands and clutch. Every time I looked this guy was winning games for the Rams. How many games did Metcalf won for the Hawks last year? 1? Maybe 2?

Of course he is older , otherwise the Hawks wouldn’t be able to get him
I agree. DK was a beast but he did take over to what his potential really should be

Lots of players ask, it doesn’t always happen.

My point doesn’t change here. We made ourselves weaker in positions that we didn’t need to fix this off season. There are only so many holes that can be fixed properly in any single of season and our biggest problem still looks to be a problem next year.

I’m not saying we can’t still fix the line this year but having to divert focus toward other positions right now doesn’t help us any.

When I think of fixing the team I look at our position we were in last year and I don’t see us as better than we were yet.
Are you suggesting that JS should have payed DK 150 million for five years? If so, I'll have to disagree. I'm not sure what Geno was asking for, but if it was 45 million like some reports say, then I would pass on him also.

He's kinda just been plugging the new holes in the roster that have been emerging. We won't really be on our way until something develops with the o-line.

What is the cap right now? Where are our regional capologist types? Lots of time before the draft left. Like it was said the vets we got can be there till we find better if nothing else. That often happens in a competitive league. We had to do something. Might as well enjoy the ride. Definitely an amazing start.

At worst they’ll be rotational players or serviceable backups.

The New England Patriots won Super Bowls using this tactic.

With less expensive players. Again, see Patriots organization dynasty. This can work if the players collectively pan out. It's about team as a whole. Chemistry. Injuries are going to happen. There are things they cannot control. This part of adding pieces to the team is about identifying and signing high percentage risks. Meanwhile, any number of 31 teams are possibly after the same guys.

This is definitely coming from the glass is half full perspective. To my point again, the Patriots navigated the cap marvelously and assembled Super Bowl WINNING teams this way. Jumping over the halfway point in the glass, what if you get a group of players that reasonably have something left with potential upside and assemble them with productive players we already have... then draft some big uglies? One big signing (unless it's Jayden Daniels lol) isn't going to get it done.

If Kupp is healthy, what does DK have on him other than size and speed. IMO Kupp is a better route runner, hands, smarts. They could be equal at blocking.
If DK ever played to his potential, it would be a lot closer.

We’ve been saying that for years.

I’ll miss DK. It was like having Kam Chancellor at receiver.

Definitely happy we landed Kupp.

Maybe he rolls his ankle 'cause he actually makes his cuts and gets some separation - unlike what we just waved goodbye to.

Just guessing.

Both our outgoing receivers turned into lazy, entitled players. I just hope they haven't contaminated JSN too much on the way out attitude-wise. Sometimes you have to take off the dress ladies (I hate Troy Aikman, but I LOVE that ******* quote), and actually WORK for YAC. That's what ya get the big bucks for!
