Born in Indiana. Grew up in Miami. Liked the Dolphins a bit…family were either Bengals, Colts, or Dallas (yuck) fans.
Basketball was my main sport. Grew up in the 80’s…went D1 for basketball.
The ‘82 Seahawks caught my eye. Easely (RIP), Largent…Zorn and Krieg. Who was this team from the PNW? I was intrigued…but not yet captivated.
Fast forward…hurt my back so, college b-ball was over. Caught every Hawks game I could.
Shawn Alexander…woah. Started to fall in love from the other side of the country.
PC era…pure magic. Damn it felt good.
42 year fan now. This feels different. This team feels like a family. I don’t think I’ve loved any single player, from any sport…more than I do each and every player (except Bradford…fk that guy) from this team. Not to be left out - JS, MM…the entire staff.
In my ‘feels’ here. My son, by proxy, is the biggest Hawks fan you could ever meet. 13 years old…just a baby holding onto his nerf football when the Hawks hosted the Lombardi. Side note - he’s already being recruited for football. That’s Ohio for you… 6’0, 190…RB. 4.5 40…900 pound club. At 13.
Watched him circle our coffee table the whole damn game last night…clutching his Blitz pillow.
Life is good my fellow Hawks fans…
This team is different. This coach is different.
We are truly blessed.
