You can slice it up any you want but the fact of the matter is GB isn't as good as people and the media are making them out to be. GB outcaoched us the first few drives. We COMPLETELY shut down Jacobs in the second half and by that time it was too late. GB won that game during the first few drives. Outside of that circus catch in the end zone by the GB WR, they only had 6 points in the second half. If our offense showed up like last week we would have blown GB out. They're not that good and I don't care what the stats say or anyone else. Their entire offense is Jacobs that's it. Take that dude out of the picture and you're looking at 6-9 GB team.
We all cope in our own way but Green Bay is a good team. They are well coached and have solid playmakers at most positions.

Coach already came out and took responsibility for our poor showing. We got outplayed and outcoached all game long. That’s all there is to it. We’ll see how the coaches and players learn and respond against Minnesota whom is also a good team.

Well coached, disciplined and a lot better than the Hawks. Yes, they are a lot better than the Hawks. For now.

The truth is Mac needs a year to get rid of the guys who don’t buy in and draft/ acquire who fit. And John needs to rethink his archaic philosophy on the value of offensive lineman.

Specifically his theory that guards aren't worth the big contracts they are getting. If you feel that way you'd better have an o-line coach who is a magician like the guy in Phili who gets everyone playing well or Scarrnechia was with the Pats. I hate to be too critical of the 2 rookies who played most of the game but imo we are getting what we paid for in the interior.

WTF happened last night? WTF was that? Jesus Christ, we got bitched slapped back to the boon docks

That was a team that just isn't there yet, That was a team that needs many more pieces to be competitive, that was a team that's going to need to go into this offseason and make some changes in personal and quite possible on the coaching staff aswell, That was also a team that only won 25 games the 3 previous seasons, that was a team that's in a rebuild and the fact they are in a rebuild was proven by the proformance they showed....

WTF happened last night? WTF was that? Jesus Christ, we got bitched slapped back to the boon docks. Woolen, dude you gotta gotta go. You are now officially garbage in my book. You play like you're wearing a skirt and afraid of breaking a nail. I'm sick and tired of this crap. It feels like we lost on purpose. There was no adjustments. I'm phukking done with Smith, done. I'm tired of telling people that Geno and Grubb are not it and no one listens. Grubb isn't an NFL level OC and Smith is wanna QB trying to break out of the I'm a complete bust mode. Macdonald, c'mon man, you gotta do better than that. Your play calling was atrocious tonight. We got EMBARRASSED on national TV AGAIN. GB isn't even that good of a team. They had 7 god damn sacks, 7, and we had GOOSE EGG. We got pushed around by a mediocre team at best in front of a national audience.
After having tome to reflect on the game and the weeks leading up to it -

We got better because we stopped doing so many complex things and focused on doing fewer, simpler things better. We got better still by repeating those things to the point of perfection.

Sunday showed that the team needs to ramp up its sophistication and build upon the tools they rode for the prior 4 weeks. Green Bay studied us and exploited weaknesses in what we were doing from the truncated script we have been playing from.

We will see what the coaches come up with.

We also need to stop calling long developing pass plays on 3rd and 3 or 4. Just get the first down and dial up the explosive when the timing is right and there's actual evidence of a strateguc advantage.

We fell into crushing sacks kn our first 2 drives opting to chips in rather than just holding the ball.

After watching that game. It showed what we already knew. The OLINE stinks and our offensive system makes it worse. And the defense did get better after the bye, but its clear this defense is still missing something. We need 1 real game changer on the edge. And we need 2 nasty interior olineman.

Settle down Frances -

Yes, we got bitch slapped on National TV. It was butt ugly.

You had to know going in to this season there were going to be growing pains as this team tries to grow. This game was certainly one of them and believe me you will see more. The coaching staff is still building a unit and there will be plenty of change this off season and those changes will bring growing pains next season. Did you honestly think we were more than 9-8 this season? That's a success! It's not something they should aim for but when we look back, it was a success. I hate it as much as you.

We, as fans, need to be patient and watch this team grow into a powerhouse in the next couple of years and not over react to the growing pains and curb stompings. It sucks.

We need an identity. Plain and simple. Ive been on and off the Grubb wagon from the start (mostly off) and the yoyo performnces, perplexing situational play calling and lack of a smart, aggressive ground game continue to keep me on the sideline with the dude. I actually dont think the execution on Sunday was bad, but the insistance on taking deep shots outside of the situational script is maddening. In listening to Mac yesterday, i think he's also a bit perplexed as to why we are pushing the ball downfield in certain <4 yard 3rd down situations.

And i still cant place all the blame on the o line until the playcalling gets better and a respectable, coherent running philosophy is established. We will continue to get bitch slapped by hard nosed teams who simply tee off on our guys until they make a play. We are handing defenses an advantage in that we are allowing them to be the aggressor 75% of the time and we dont help ourselves in that we arent strategic enough in our pass game and run pass mix to exploit a defense's aggression.

On defense, Mac needs to spend more time with his dudes. Sunday felt like a game where we prepared for one thing and GB did enough of something else that it destroyed our gameplan. Mike had been honest in the past about his and his player 's performance or lack thereof when things dont go well. It feels squarely like at a few points throughout the season, wr have been underprepared and he has takennrepsonsibility in spots. But when you go up against a Matt Lefleur who is among the best in the league at calling offense... well, you get what you'd expect if your plan is too paired down and you havent spent the time prepping correctly all week. Mike scaled things back a few weeks ago. We found success because of it and i think became overconfident that we could take what we knew and did well and just beat the next team up. Meanwhile GB looked at what we were doing and patting ourselves on the back for, jumping on nicknames like 'deathzone' after 4 games and systematically dissasembled the whole deal in 2 soul killing drives to the open the game.

We werent prepared.

I expect the game against Minny will be better in that sense.

Giant red flags and 🚨 if they come out unprepared again on D. I expect the offense to lack coherence for the rest of the season.

Agree.

Give Mike credit for saying it like it was - that GB did things a little differently than they'd expected. He also said the players were in the right frame of mind and were ready to go. Paraphrasing here, but essentially, GB surprised them.
We have too many young players to be waltzing into games expecting to win without having the knowledge to pair with the confidence. The team needs to wise up, mature and learn from this.

Could be a great thing in the end - to have had the media picking us as a darkhorse SB contender after a 4 game win streak, only to be slobber knocked into relality by a smarter, better prepared group. Better to have a wakeup call like this and the taste it leaves in your mouth now as opposed to in the wildcard round or in week 18 when we need the W.
