Not unprecedented. Remember the Sonics vs Denver? Like 1994 or so? #1 seed vs #18 or whatever seed, lost in the first round. Unprecedented in the NFL maybe.

The Seahawks have plenty of Dikembe Mutombos on the team to be able to upset the Panthers, their 10 Pro Bowlers notwithstanding. We damn nearly beat them in the regular season. We can get the W this time.

Who would be afraid of that abortion of a team? We can't lay an egg against Carolina and expect God to save us again.
if that's the plan god has then I will take it. we just played in the 3rd coldest game in nfl history and won. we are riding on cloud 9 right now. its going to be 50 degrees in Carolina on sunday. I don't care how we win its the playoffs. all that matters right now is getting to the dance and winning.

I watched the game at a bar in Charlotte, North Carolina and took a lot of ribbing for the first three quarters... You could have heard a pin drop if I hadn't been screaming when that kick was missed. There wasn't a single Prancer fan that wanted to see the Seahawks come to town. So much for "if you want to be the best, you want to beat the best"... I am looking forward to the Seahawks ending their season next week. I can't wait to see the Seahawks defense dabbing in a picture with time left on the clock next week as Tarvaris kneels the ball.

not really.... we are familiar with the Hawks, both teams play close and tough, we finally broke through with a win against SEA this year. I think if anything Cam and Co. want to face Seattle because if you are going to be the man you have to beat the man and your team is the NFC Defending champs until proven otherwise

Also, just perused some panther forums. Basically all of Charlotte was suddenly a Vikings fan today. Hmmm. Seems to greatly contrast with your perspective.

Let's see how well you do your job in negative temperatures and wind. Today's game was a fight for survival and the Seahawks survived. There is absolutely NOTHING you can take from this game and apply to next week...NOTHING. Thinking this game is indicative of how the Seahawks will play in 50 degree weather is only something that prancer fans will try to do in order to convince themselves that their team has a chance, but deep down, Prancer fans KNOW their season ends next week.

Their fans sounded a lot like a Tomsula press conference when I pointed out how they were ALL rooting for the Vikings when the game ended. Well....ummmmm....hmmmm.....errr... It was classic fear.

I'm curious why their one moderator thinks the refs are in the Hawks' pocket considering how heavily penalized the team usually is vs. their opponents.

Yep.

They are down 2 CBs now. We will move the ball.
While that worries me, we've been without Bene for a few weeks now so we've kind of adjusted to him being out. Would love to have a 100% Tillman out there but that's not in the cards. Every team has injuries though so it's next man up. I have confidence in McClain's abilities and don't think we'll be that much worse for wear.
We'll have Stewart back for this game and I think that's huge for us. While CAP has filled in admirably, the timing wasn't all that great between him and Cam as seen in the Falcons game.

Seahawks know Carolina just as well as they know Seattle. The game in Seattle had the makings of a lopsided game and the Hawks got away from fundamentals, allowing them the chance to get back in it. Just like in Cincinnati. Next thing you know Newton finds Olsen wide open on a blown coverage.

This is not even the same defense Carolina played last time. Kam just got back and Lane wasn't in that game. He has been just awesome on defending passes. The Hawks have played in Carolina seemingly every year.

It will be a good game that is close in the 4th quarter no matter what happens.

Will the Seahawks be favored over Panthers next week? LOL

I am not afraid of Carolina nor Arizona....so looks like good for Seattle to go far into the playoffs-esp if Lynch returns next week.

Which AFC o scares Seattle Not Denver since their veteran QB is at the end of the road; Brady is hurt and 40 now and has no O line; Alex Smith is an Amateur and Big Ben is hurting for certain.

One road game down and two to go. :3:

This is exactly why when a team is down to a backup or 3rd string DB their opponent doesn't throw the ball that way, because it isn't right to go after the weaker link. Just wouldn't be sporting :sarcasm_on:

While i certainly agree it was bad, the fact is it was one of the top four coldest games ever. Let that sink in before we pass immediate judgement. Secondly, the Vikings defense has heard all week about we were going to cram it down their throats, and they literally played the game of their lives. That was the best performance you will ever see from the league's fifth best scoring defense. That's a big obstacle. Huge... Think back to like super bowl forty eight for us, stars aligning, all that. They should have just murdered us.

But we got one Russell Wilson.

And they got teddy Bridgewater.

We own the series against Carolina, and it took a remarkable comeback for them to win even one.

They're going to be rusty. The bye week is not always a blessing.

Have we ever lost in Charlotte?

Carolina is scared. They may not say it, or act it, but come kick off time they're going to be saying, 'damn you Blair Walsh.'

Can you imagine winning fifteen games and getting bumped in the divisional?. Holy crap that would be unprecedented I'd bet.

And the only reason the Panthers won that was because of a blown coverage by our secondary.

Remember, Patriots went undefeated and lost to the 6th seed Giants a few years back, so yes... it's VERY possible for us to do the same to the Panthers.

Four TD drives of 80 yards. It was more than one play. KK Short was also the NFC Defensive player of the week from the DT position.

...And our games with Car usually come down to ONE PLAY. You best slide that box-car door back shut, Container Cat! :177692:
You're just like the little brother hanging around in big brother's room, wanting to be just like him some day....or would DADDY be more appropriate! :p :p

I hope you prancer fans are expecting Cary Williams to be lining up at corner this week.
