Krieg played 18 years in the NFL, 2 more than Moon. Started fewer games than Moon, but appeared in more overall. Works out to .87 Krieg vs .79 Moon fumbles per start. For games appeared in it's .72 Krieg vs .77 Moon. BTW, Krieg's winning percentage in games started is higher than Moon's by a few percentage points. That's probably not the impression most people have when comparing the 2 QB's against each other either. Not implying that Krieg couldn't fumbe the ball in some bizarre ways, but sometimes impressions are just that.[/quote]

It's not an impression. I've seen both play, lots of times, and many of those times in person, and I'd much rather have Warren Moon in his prime as my starting quarterback than Dave Krieg in his prime, and apparently so do a lot of other well informed people as Moon made the HOF whereas Krieg did not even though neither played in a SB.

I could be mistaken but didn't they try to sign Peter Boulware in the 2005 off-season before the re-signed with the Ravens?

LMAO at the Krieg/Moon fumble argument. Most of Moon's happened during fumble-forcing sacks, so they weren't killing a play. Krieg would have no one near him, cock his arm to throw and ball would fly backwards as it slipped out of his tiny hand.

Moon also played behind pro-bowl lineman. Krieg did only once, only one player, a reserve PB in Detroit. IIRC, it was Lomas Brown, whom ironically was quoted in saying "I allowed a sack on Scott Mitchell, so Krieg would come in, because Krieg gave us a chance to win" (paraphrase).

I know I'm biased on this one; Krieg was a childhood favorite of mine. I latched on to the tough, scrappy, everyman ethic and grit. BUT, Krieg gets a shaft from Hawks fans. He was a lot better than people care to admit.

Oh, and I think Krieg's 3rd, actually. Behind Moon and Elway.

XOXO

I'm glad someone else besides me sees the insanity of a Krieg-Moon fumble debate in the same light I do. Numbers don't always tell the true story. Krieg could find more creative ways to turn the ball over than any other player I've ever watched, and I've been watching football for over 50 years. I think the people on the HOF committee realizes the differences between the two players, too.

I'm convinced that had we gotten Moon back when he first came down from the CFL, that we would have gone to multiple SB's.

I'm so glad we didn't get Arian Foster. I'm very happy with our Beast acquisition.
Sure. Of course very happy with Lynch. But, Arian Foster is still a great player that very nearly was drafted by the Seahawks. That's all.

I wasn't going that deep and we could say similar things about each of these players being mentioned. We can run scenarios like that in our mind over any of these players vs. the team the Seahawks are now.
