Regardless of his injury situation, I'm of the opinion that he needs to play more of a WR role and not be a detriment to the offense in run blocking. He's literally one of the worst run blocking TEs I've ever seen. He's a power forward of a pass catcher, but unfortunately he's also a basketball player in the run blocking department in that he's just flat out too tall/doesn't have leverage and lacks any measure of strength and toughness at the point of attack. I hope the coaching staff wises up with his strengths and weaknesses.
For what the Seahawks are on offense in terms of the emphasis on the run game, I still prefer Luke Willson specifically at the in-line TE position. He's obviously not the pass catcher, but pros and cons....
