Sataoa Laumea announced as starting right guard for Jets game >>>

Sixth-round pick Sataoa Laumea, who’s not even been active on gameday, much less played a regular season snap, will make his NFL debut on Sunday against the New York Jets. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed the decision to reporters on Friday.

“He’s earned it,” Macdonald said of Laumea.

Wow! I thought maybe they were making Haynes earn it, but this signals more than that.

Well good luck Laumea, hope he surprises us all. This team is due for some good luck on the offensive line.

I don't know about this. This kid was getting walked up consistently during training camp. I hope he has done a lot of pull-ups and push-ups to increase his power and core strength. If not, it's gonna be a long game on Sunday.

Hmmm...

Why does it feel like we're going into another rotational phase between Sata and Haynes?

Wonder how this is gonna work out...

This scares me some. I’m always hopeful but as he hadn’t earned any playing time before now it makes me wonder how ready he really is. At least we have Lucas out there to help guide him now. Would have been worse earlier this year

I’m all for this. If he proves he can take the job then it’s another position we won’t have to worry about. Not sure what’s going on with Haynes though, that’s a bit worrisome. Maybe it’s just as little as he just needs a year or two

I look forward to seeing both Seahawks RBs demonstrating their improving blocking skills.

Well, he plays well or gets cut...the new 'hawks way. Trial by fire, survive or die. All jokes aside, I'm a fan of making moves and throwing guys to the wolves.

It’s kinda weird. I wonder why this happened, an injury or something? Seems like our line played pretty good last game so why make a change?

Ok wow I guess I coulda just read the article…. Bradford injured and Sataoa just won the job over Haynes…

This is Haynes losing his spot to a fellow rookie. In fact, they jumped Laumea over him to keep him from starting since AB has gone on IR. That makes me think Haynes is treading in Dodson/Baker territory.

Laken Tomlinson beat Laumea out in training camp (yikes!), but to give Laumea the benefit of the doubt, he played RG/RT in college and they put him in the LG slot in training camp -- so everything was backwards from what he was used to. That said, he's going to be starting his first NFL game against Quinnen Williams...

Hmm. Is it possible they're putting him out there as a test in a very winnable game to see if he's NFL ready? To light a fire under Haynes? To get Geno killed and collect the insurance money?

Time will tell.

He sure earned it in a hurry. Didn't we just resign him to the PS a week or so ago?
For sure, a slap in the face to Haynes. But maybe that's just what he needs to wake up the beast in him. In the meantime I hope Laumea turns out to be a world beater.

Just when you think there could be more than one week of OL continuity… I trust in our coach but I wish we had a consistent line up. Due to poor play, injury or coaching, it’s just constant turn over year in year out it seems. Frustrating

I thought at the time we drafted in the 3rd, we should have drafted the line backer Payton Wilson instead. I was not high on Haynes. It seems like the coaching staff is not liking what they see in him.
