We need better backups at both LT and RT. These younger guys aren't up to the task.
Bailey and Bowie are both 21 years old and late round/ udfa rookies. Let them grow before you knock them down. They have talent, they just need the experience.
Its not the same has Robert Turbin, Sidney Rice, or McQuistan who've had showed us they have had talent to play in the previous year but now are looking like scrubs.
How can two players go from good to being 'scrubs' in one off season? Put some thought into it. I'm sure you can come up with a better answer than saying they suddenly forget how to play. What is the most glaring weakness on our offense right now? Very covenient to grade players in a vacuum, is it not?
One if you're going to request an argument from me it would be awesome if a) you can name the two players you are referring to b) not put words in my mouth unless you are saying my argument would be that they forgot how to play.
Rice is looking like a scrub this year, case in point Kearse and Willson look better as receivers than Rice. He's making big bucks to put up quality numbers, and he doesn't have fighter's mentality that made him successful at jump balls like he did in 2012. For the catches Doug Baldwin has made by himself this year, he has made Rice look like a sack of potatoes trying to catch a ball.
McQuistan had been a quality OG in 2012, and a serviceable OT in 2011. In 2013, he's looked weak in the pre-season and he's looked weak in regular season. 3.25 million of scrubbing it. He's getting outplayed by Bowie, and Bowie looks like he doesn't even know what to do half the time. McQuistan is that bad.
I'm assuming much of your post is aimed at my remark about Turbin. Its been common for fans to be butt hurt about Turbin when someone talks about bad about him. He's a good player, no doubt, and I'll admit maybe my own expectation for him was too tall. I just thought he would be better.
The Seahawks aren't using him to his strengths, how many catches does he even have this year (2 catches on 4 targets), sure he's has pass blocking ability but it still isn't the difference in keeping Wilson upright, and the guy is just average as it comes when it comes to rushing the ball. And its not average to good at best but more like averagely predictable. But what makes me get on Turbin's case the most is his effort, this dude is running hard, he's running angry, he's getting more physical, and he has better understanding of the Cable's ZBS and he just hasn't looked like he has taken that next step from last year. And he's looked horrible has a short-yardage back, he looks like a freight train but doesn't run like a bruiser.
I'm not trying to say Turbin sucks because he's a well-rounded player, average but well-rounded. However, compared to what he was last year, he's been scrubbing it. Maybe its the O-line, which I think you insinuated has been the root of our problems with your vacuum comment. But if Turbin is just the product of his O-line than he's not the RB I thought he would be.
The Incredible Hulk, nah, more like the Stumbling Bulk.
