The more I think about this off season, I’m feeling better. Out are quarterback Geno Smith and wide receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. In are QB Sam Darnold and wideouts Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. On top of it all, there’s the addition of Klint Kubiak as offensive coordinator. But more importantly OUT is Grubb and his scheme that put a premium on the OL to perform, where Kubiak has a wide zone scheme, play action to set up the pass and not holding the ball. Darnold flourished in this system and we do have horses to make it run. The biggest beneficiaries will be the OL, not being in shotgun 80% or more with the DL ears pinned back.

Just hope it's as night and day diff as it possibly sounds
Just watching the game it was obvious grubb did the offense almost no opportunity to succeed
Only twice did I say , well didn't expect that
One positive is the oline really got some practice defending the pass , now hopefully they'll open some holes in the run game
That's my major concern
No matter the scheme i believe we need some big heavy on our line

If we could just have JS quit peeing into that half full glass I'd be happy. He is the lone remaining person on my "get off my team" list and unfortunately is in the position to continue to do the most harm. It started with the Jimmy Graham trade . . . and how he hates the o-line.

Never forget . . . https://www.si.com/nfl/seahawks/news/what-if-the-seahawks-never-traded-for-jimmy-graham

"It's easy to point to the Graham trade as a move that ultimately prevented the Seahawks from getting back to the big game, especially if you consider the downfall of the offensive line as the biggest reason they couldn't advance in the playoffs. There may be some substance to such an argument."

From all I’ve read and heard since Grubb was let go, it really does seem like he was not only a bad fit but kind of an asshole.

So he was the Urban Meyer of OC's.

‘This wasn't like the failed trade for Percy Harvin back in 2013 in which Schneider traded a first-round pick to the Vikings in exchange for a Super Bowl kickoff returned for a touchdown and a black eye for Golden Tate.’

I'm feeling great about the current state of affairs. Maybe I shouldn't be, but I am. Sure, there's still warts and JS is a bit of a 'tard. We're not gonna win an owl this year, but I won't have to grit my teeth and watch the bullshit of the last several years. No tantrums, no 'gimmie the ball', no hitting the deck, no screaming at coaches. No retarded OC. It will at least be more watchable!

Only thing I have to say to the old guard that's gone? **** 'em.

200

Entitled douches. And honestly, they can take Real Rob and Lynch with 'em. What a bunch of babies.

We're going to be just fine this year.

I feel good and optimistic too. I am in full acknowledgement this team could get absolutely worse, but this team truly has needed to start over since RW got traded (and that should have happened much sooner too). Much needed fresh start to see what this new team can become under the new regime. The Seahawks have been a good team for a long time. The enemy of greatness is good. To be a true contender in the NFL, the team needs to be great. To be great, teams often times (especially with the salary cap) have to do a fresh start.
