Not sure who this dude is but …maybe Geno asked to be traded?

Schultz is a legit source.

Not good that this wasn't a planned separation and makes reports of us looking at younger, cheaper, and worse version of Geno--Sam Darnold--seem more legit and worrisome.

We'll see what Schneider and Macdonald have planned, though.

But damn, we wasted the last year with Geno, DK, and Tyler running the Ryan Grubb experiment. Kind of sucks thinking of it that way.

Good lord.

This team is trying to become the West Coast version of the pre-Aaron Jets team.

I shudder that we are even thinking of Sam Darnold.
(Maybe he will surprise me, Geno did. But to be honest, YOU could put up big #s as the QB for the Vikings...that WR group makes anyone look good. Feels more like we'll get Kurt Cousined if we sign Darnold to anything)

With our struggling OL, depleted WR group and garbage-tier RB group - we might make those old Browns offenses look like the Greatest Show on Turf by comparison.
Yikes

Wikipedia in the 2025 NFL Draft article is showing #73 overall.

They explained on the Insiders that online isn’t registering that the jets had made a deal last year to obtain that 92nd pick and it was traded to the Raiders for Adams and now to us for Smith.

Yep. My bad on the confusion. I screenshot that from some dude in a Raiders forum.

I LOVE to know what's going through Macdonald's mind on this one, as I have no doubt the hiring of Grubb was a Schneider thing.

They had a plan and they are sticking to it. They offered 35, Geno wasn't having it so they moved on. I highly doubt they did not plan for this. They would just pay him if they had no other plan. They apparently think Darnold is a reasonable option for a cheaper price. I find that a pretty reasonable take. I'm betting they have a good idea what Darnold is willing to sign with us for.

One thing many people on here are forgetting with regards to our next quarterback….

Our offensive line is not good at the moment!!!!

Need a mobile quarterback!!!!

Laugh now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Daniel Jones is in play.

This makes perfect sense to me. I’m still baffled people thought Seattle viewed Geno as a near elite QB. If they did they would’ve paid him with quick out clauses.

I also think this increases the odds that DK stays.

Eh, that's not quite a plan as it is a reaction... and a reasonable one at that. But I feel like our rebuild is more being thrust upon us vs. this being something we planned to do going into the off-season.

They obviously had a plan and knew they weren’t going to pay Geno 40+ a year.

Im okay with Darnold for sub $30million otherwise this makes no sense. Need to throw a Dart at the draft though too

Wow, a third. Not great compensation. Well Darnold isn't getting the offers he thought he might so maybe thats an option. I don't mind him on a modest contract.
Uuuhhhhh, really? 5 years ago I interviewed Geno to pour concrete for me, minimum wage. I'd say a 3rd rounder is turning water into wine.

That's an interesting take. Are you saying that because maybe DK wasn't a Geno fan?
