An early 3rd for a 34 year old mid level QB and $31,500,000 in cap relief is tremendous compensation. The team should have $63.85 million in available cap going into FA,

it was as well unlikely that the team was going to be able to reach an acceptable contract with Geno.

This is a good trade which signals a serious change of focus for the team.

I'd expect he team will draft at least one young QB this draft.

I picked a horrible day to buy Geno pajamas! Pick #92 isn't bad for a an older QB that would have got more money else where. That pick will be a starting Guard.

Given the Smith contract situation and a possible future 3rd round compensatory pick if Smith left after 2025 I thought Smith was worth around pick #80 in trade value. It's a shame the Seahawks won't be on Hard Knocks.
