27 TDs and 6 picks and 4,000 yards.
Now, that is MVP territory, and Geno got a more marketable story for NFL than other candidates. Aren't all sports fans suckers for a rags to riches story? Don't we all just love second chances? It happened before with Rich Gannon, it can happen again for Geno Smith.

I love this! Any thoughts on what his cap hit will be after this year?
I know this sounds strange...but a team friendly ~25m/yr, 3 year deal would be good for everyone. Honestly, his agent could push for more based on production if he keeps this up. The latest mock drafts show 3 QB's going in the 1st 4 picks. There are quite a few teams that would love to have Geno right now.

Honestly there’s no other team that’s gonna give geno big money. Too risky that he looks good in the system and comes back down to earth somewhere else plus he’s not a 24 year old that you know is gonna have better football ahead of them. This is the best geno will ever play so there’s that.

Also 2 of his current picks weren't his fault!
Every QB’s INT count has some that aren’t their fault, some that should’ve been picked, picks called back by penalty, etc…. It all pretty much evens out in the end.

You could be right. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Imagine if players didn't drop on-target passes... 80% Completion.

Dan Orlovsky: "Less than 10% of Geno's passes are off target."

In other words, over 90% of his passes are ON TARGET.

What is big money? The only starting QBs on less than $29m are either on their rookie contract, were sign with doubts whether they would be starter (Mariota, Winston, Mayfield) or are more interested in an eighth SB ring than $ (that's a short list).

Geno is currently playing like a $50m QB because of the risk it is quite likely teams won't go to more than $25-$30m but I can't see him signing for less than that. Franchise tag is a real possibility we they can't agree something.

Team that worries me the most is the bucs if Brady retired they can give him a lot of cash because of no state tax. I think the longer Russ plays like garbage the more likely it is that teams steer clear from our guys because it’s making our system and coaches look really good and they’re a lot of guys on our roster they are getting the absolute most of and pushing all the right buttons when it comes to maximizing certain guys skill sets.

I think you're right. People are going to point to Russell Wilson and say, maybe Geno is just a system QB, and once you take him out of Pete Carroll's system, he's just going to be average.

This is likely fantasy. Geno is going to get paid in line with top QBs, maybe not quite Russell Wilson money, but it's going to be up there. If we don't pay him someone else will. Half of the league is usually looking for a QB at any given time. What Smith is doing puts him in the upper echelon of passers this season. He's going to get market value and that isn't going to be cheap. He's going to be paid at least what Allen and Mahomes are making.
