It’s not a crime to not want to watch your kid, however if he broke her computer and she presses charges he could take a misdemeanor hit for that, unless he just pays her off…

Unfortunate, but this just looks like a semi-normal dispute in a relationship that his significant other is trying to blow up into something else.

…oh, and he named his kid “Seven” lol 🙄. Classic Seinfeld!
Seven ?

Not LeSeven or JaSeven? I'm impressed

I'm not even mildly surprised. Geno is a pr***, always has been.
That's where I'm at on this story. Like everyone else, I haven't a clue whether or not this accusation is true. But considering that it's Geno, the shoe sure fits.

Maybe Geno smashed the computer to show that he has turned over a new leaf. "No more videos games and p*rn for me!"

When someone talks about 'your son' rather than 'our son' it leaves an impression.

Seems like a big old nothingburger. Did he ever have off the field problems here? Yet another thread of "letsshitontheexseahawkwhoopeee!!"

I do think it’s highly likely she’s exaggerating the cirxumstances but the police reversed course and said after review they are still investigating. Saw this on ESPN.

My take: a child support dispute does not become a police matter unless a formal court order is already in place and the obligated parent (Geno) willfully fails to obey it.

From the video, it was clear that the woman did not live in Geno's house, but Geno also did not challenge her claim about the kid. It all sounded like the two willingly have a kid together but Geno isn't paying enough attention or providing enough financial support.

From the Google AI:

In Florida, verbal accusations hold no legal weight regarding how much financial support a parent must provide or how much time they must spend with the child. Under Florida law, an informal, verbal agreement is completely unenforceable. To resolve these conflicts, both parents must transition from informal arrangements to formal court orders.
The legal realities and immediate steps to take under Florida law depend heavily on whether paternity has already been legally established. [1, 2]

1. The Paternity Milestone (Florida Statute 742) [1]
  • If Paternity is NOT Legally Established: In Florida, if a child is born out of wedlock, the mother automatically has sole legal custody and parental responsibility. The father has zero legal rights to time-sharing (visitation) and no legal obligation to pay child support until paternity is established. The mother cannot legally demand child support, and the father cannot legally demand to see the child. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • If Paternity IS Established: If the father signed an Acknowledgment of Parentage at the hospital or if a court-ordered DNA test was completed, he is the legal father. Under Florida updates, establishing paternity gives the father the legal standing to request a official parenting plan. [1, 2, 3, 4]

2. Addressing the "Not Providing Enough Support" Accusation
Florida does not determine child support based on what one parent "feels" is enough. [1]
  • The Income Shares Model: Florida utilizes a strict statutory calculator. The official child support amount is determined using the combined net income of both parents, the cost of health insurance, daycare expenses, and the exact number of overnight visits the child spends with each parent. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Retroactive Support: If a mother opens a formal case through the Florida Department of Revenue Child Support Program or a family court, the state can order the father to pay retroactive child support back to the date the parents stopped living together, up to a maximum of 24 months. [1, 2, 3]
  • The "Paper Trail" Necessity: If the father has been giving the mother cash or buying items like diapers, clothes, or formula, Florida courts frequently rule these as gifts rather than child support. The father must preserve an explicit paper trail (such as bank transfers or check receipts clearly marked "child support") to receive credit for prior voluntary support. [1]

3. Addressing the "Not Spending Time" Accusation
In Florida, child support and time-sharing are handled as two entirely separate issues. A parent cannot withhold visitation because child support wasn't paid, and a parent cannot withhold financial support because they are denied visits. [1]
  • Presumption of Equal Time: Florida law features a strong legal presumption that 50/50 equal time-sharing is in the best interest of the child. [1, 2]
  • The Parenting Plan: To lock in a schedule and stop accusations, either parent can file a Petition to Determine Paternity and for Related Relief (using Florida Supreme Court Approved Family Law Form 12.983(a)). This court process establishes a binding, detailed calendar outlining exactly where the child sleeps every night of the year, including holidays and school breaks. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • Financial Impact of Time-Sharing: The number of overnights directly impacts the child support calculation. If a father is awarded a specific number of overnights but consistently fails to exercise them, the mother can petition the court to recalculate and increase his monthly child support obligation. [1, 2, 3]

Recommended Next Steps
  1. File a Formal Petition: Stop relying on informal drop-offs or unmonitored payments. File a petition for a formal Parenting Plan and Child Support Order through the local Florida circuit court clerk.
  2. Log All Financial Transactions: Gather all text messages, bank statements, and payment receipts showing exactly what financial assistance has been requested and what has been provided.
  3. Keep a Communication Log: Document every time time-sharing is offered, accepted, refused, or canceled by either party. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

From Smith's Wiki page:

"Smith married his college girlfriend, Hayley Eastham, in July 2015. They were in a long-term relationship before getting married in 2015. Smith and Eastham had a son, Seven Santana Smith (named after his jersey number), on July 17, 2019."

In a few weeks time Smith's son will be...

I can think of a certain former QB who'd be willing to put his TV job on hold if the Jets are suddenly in need of a starter.
