Geno had a good final drive but let's not ignore his blunders the entire game
Not many of them outside of the interception. He only had 6 incompletions outside of the pick, numerous big throws, took the ground yards when it mattered, and notched an absurd 16 completion % above expected with a deep average depth of target that, for reference, was almost double what Purdy was doing.Geno had a good final drive but let's not ignore his blunders the entire game
It's the NFL. Most games come down to a 2 minute drive.Geno played better when Bosa went out for sure, but I don't think that constitutes 'growth'. It wouldn't hurt to roll him out or do things to slow down the opposing pass rush. He's such a statue back there, the pass rushers know where they have to go before the ball is snapped.
Also, a lot of game winning drives means you're in a lot a one-score games. It's easy to be clutch when you have 4 downs to play with instead of 3. I'm looking forward to watching other teams play with desperation in the last 2 minutes instead of us.
I doubt anyone actually thinks that there are QBs who make zero mistakes, week in and week out. It really discredits honest discussion when you purposely distort the arguments people are actually making. I would know, because I do it frequently. It's very clear that people mostly watch highlights of the rest of the league or watch games, but don't actually pay attention to what's happening. There are zero QBs who don't make at least 2 or 3 mistakes a game that either result in turnovers, almost turnovers, or kill drives. Most QBs make many more mistakes per game.
I wouldn't say that's the only question, but yeah that's probably what it comes down to in regards to how long we should commit to him. I see fans questioning whether to give him an extension sometimes dismissed as "haters", but there are good reasons to be hesitant given his age. It's a unique situation with little precedent that's difficult to get a good grasp on.The only real question with him is his age and when that age will start to show as well as whether or not we tear it down
Just to put these debates into perspective, on the Chiefs fan forum, there are people who say that Patrick Mahomes sucks.

For a .510 record….He won more games in the 4th quarter coming back last year than any qb in league history, behind one of the worst o lines, with one of the worst rushing attacks and alongside one of the leagues worst defenses.
Geno grew up a long time ago.
The rest of the team is what is 'growing up'
Seneca Wallace!!!!!Welcome to QB in the NFL. Quite a wide landscape of opinions on the starters. Shoot, the most popular players in the league are often the backup QB's. What a great gig.
This is why it kinda proves it was a team win and on D and O I think we are a better team with just the few changes that have happened since the bye , so with an off season our oline could change dramatically which would make geno and Co. that much better and bring back our running game which is kinda crazy when you think about it , we are still around and haven't had much of a running game to take any pressure off the qb , that says a lot to me as it should be his best friendOpinions are like ....... everyone has one.
Just don't quite get the hand wringing over whether Geno is the right QB.... He is not a Top 5, future HOF'er. But let's just look at the data.....
Hawks - 2nd best Passing team in the league - 261 ypg
10th in total offense
Geno - 4th in total passing yards - 2781
Geno - 7th in completion pct - 69%
Geno - tied for 5th with 18 dropped passes by receivers
BUT......
28th in Rushing offense - 91 ypg
4th most sacks allowed - 32
Defense - 22nd in yards allowed - 350ypg - bottom 1/3rd in the league
3rd most penalized team in the league - 2nd most offensive holding calls &
tied for 3rd with most false starts
What the DATA says is this..... Geno is NOT the problem. The below avg offensive line is the problem. Drive killers - sacks, holding calls and false starts. Seattle is one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to those three things. K9 is a hell of a back. But this O-line is garbage. So it all falls on Geno's shoulders. The defense is bottom 1/3rd in the league. So basically anyone that has the OPINION that Geno is the issue.... i just chuckle at.
Omg, I have a pretty good Seneca Wallace story..........Seneca Wallace!!!!!
Well…. Gonna leave us in suspense?Omg, I have a pretty good Seneca Wallace story..........
Yes, that thread is just the thread complaining about the complainers. But in the Patrick Mahomes thread and in this one:I just read through that entire thread. Where did anyone say that?
