That's what they're going to try to do. Geno has implied he wants commitment and that is the opposite of commitment. It's possible this turns somewhat ugly as both camps view the situation differently.Thats what they are going to do. Just like his current contract. It just makes the most sense. It gives you a capable QB for now and time to find the next guy. They hope sooner than later but QB's are so hit or miss. The other main reason they extend him is it lowers his cap hit substantially allowing them to fill more holes or with better players. It's really a win-win to extend him regardless how fans feel about him.
It's rumored they sent feelers out last year that they would entertain trade offers for Geno but no one bit. Geno feels like he deserves more and is a top 10 guy as he's said and I don't fault him. He should try to get every dollar he can.
