Jennings did nothing last night to show any reason he would not clear waivers. Ursua on the other hand look legit.

The way I see it right now...

1 Lockett
2 DK
3 Brown
4 Ursua
5 Moore or Ferguson

My question is, who will start? I remember we all speculated that Lockett would move to the slot when Baldwin "retired".

LOCKETT and Brown will start, with some bizarro combination of players coming in after that depending on the Pete Carroll play time algorithm

I hope Brown isn't our starting WR for very long, and that one of our youngsters can step up. I do think Ursua see's some playing time at slot.

Ursua has all the markings of a third down receiver that can sustain drives, he has that knack.

Yes and Ferguson has all the markings of that big target WR and red zone specialist. We don't know if Metcalf can even stay healthy yet.

Well according to Clayton there not keeping Ferguson. Even though they don't know if Metcalf can even stay healthy there going to keep Jennings instead. They make a bad decision at WR every year this one will be the worst yet.

Clayton has been good about a lot of things, rosters not so much he gets baited easily and miss directed a lot.

Well, "they're" not going to go by what Clayton says. He's guessing, we shall see. A lot of tough choices.

Like most fans that only see limited play on 4 preseason scrimmages.

We may keep 6 guys and we may see some IR shenanigans as well. Still have one more game to bang someone up and make the decisions even tougher.

That being said I think the top guys by preseason performance are Lockett (by a mile), Brown, Ursua, Ferguson. Moore and DK get injury exemptions. Jennings, Reynolds, Turner are all interchangeable JAG's from what I can see so far.

I for one don't understand the logic of the "he's a 4th rounder, you can't give up on him," discussion. If he's been outperformed, he's been outperformed. There's also a significant chance he doesn't get picked up on waivers, so he's the perfect practice squad candidate.

We had this thinking with Amara Darboh, who was a 3rd rounder, and look how he's done since then. Keep your best players.

Well if they don't put him on the roster he'll most likely play somewhere in the NFL . If we new what we had in Metcalf I wouldn't care as much if he's cut.

The fact is Metcalf has a history of being injured in college and he's already had a knee surgery yes a minor one but none the less he's unavailable do to injury . He also hasn't shown any chops yet at the pro level. Hopefully Clayton is wrong about Jazz he's been wrong before so we'll see.

If Jennings had shown anything this pre season cutting Ferguson would be a lot easier to accept. The fact is Jennings has not looked good at all this pre season , or in practice according to the media reports.

This is my last chance to pound the table for Ferguson. Not that the FO is looking at this i'm sure there not . However Jazz caught a pass down the middle tonight that was a thing of beauty it was an amazing catch I saw an end zone replay from the booth crew on the post game and it really showed just how great it was.

I'm not much into hyperbole but Jazz is one of the best WR prospects I've seen come through here in a few years now. They really need to find a way to put him on the roster.

Totally agree. He could be one of those rare finds that makes an immediate impact.

He's not a find, he is the guy that needs a second chance, Pete does well with these types if they put in the work.

Everyone knew he had talent, he dominated where he finished his college career against double and triple teams many times. That skill shows going after balls in traffic and boxing out and going up for balls.

He is also young and is going to get a lot better.

I would hate to see him against us on the field somewhere.

I very much agree.

To me he seems to have a knack of getting himself open and his size allows him win the contested balls. He’s been a pleasant surprise whereas Jennings looks as if he will need time to be able to play and needs to stop taking bad penalties. Both Ferguson and Ursula have been solid young players in the 4 preseason games.

I believe the FO will make a mistake waiving Ferguson who has rare size and good hands. I believe he’d be a waiver claim if released. He’s been an impressive addition to the roster as an undrafted player. If used properly he could be a red zone weapon.
