Here's some great defensive play breakdown. Note the attempted pick play when Tre Flowers makes his spectacular tackle. Luckily his coverage was tight enough, and he was in tackling position instead of being over the top... or Tre would have been sucked out by a pick play that wouldn't have been called.

Just shows they are learning and trusting their coaches
Thx for posting
A couple of big guys and an edge rusher and our Dline might be dangerous
In the past you'd have to worry about an Dline for another team and a certain roster was a recipe for a loss
Not this year , so were benefitting from coaching changes bigtime

So happy for adopting Flowers as my rookie, he is quietly having a good season. Ain't bad for a rookie converting to play a different position. He made some plays at critical moments.

Stuff like this is super interesting. I was especially fascinated by the first play he covered where Bobby stood still.

With regards to the Pick Play - I think that we need to clarify something - If the offensive players run "Rub Routes" where they cross over each other and the defensive players covering each other RUN INTO EACH OTHER but are not explicitly blocked by the offense, this is NOT ILLEGAL.

That is what they were trying to do here, but Tre Flowers slides over the top - If the Carolina player blocked Flowers himself then that would have been illegal, but he made no effort to do that here.

It is important to note this because the Hawks frequently run Rub Routes as well.

Finally, the play that everyone has been complaining about where McCaffery scores the TD is just like I described above - Our guys ran into each other - that's how he got so wide open...I'm sorry but that wasn't an illegal play.

The TD play was two Panther players not just leading defenders into each other but literally shoving them into each other. The Seahawks players didnt run into each other.

Not sure if thats illegal but thats what it appeared to happen

You think our guys "ran into each other" on accident? :D

I'll trust the guys at NBC who clearly noted the violation there. Pretty sure they know what they are talking about.

Well considering out guy gets called for a "pick" or offensive PI just 2 games ago (was it Chargers?) and all he did was post up and got in the guys way... If that was a foul then this most certainly was... It seems like refs are selective in calling that penalty. It was a great play by Flowers to not get thrown off.

That first video of Bobby reading the play. So nice. The kind of detail you never get to see.

It was illegal. I watched several NFL shows and several of them brought that up and showed the pick play. One former defensive player got upset about it.

Pete called in on it and the Referee said they couldn't see what caused the "collision" so they didn't call it.

Right? It goes against everything taught at MLB position. You're taught to never be flat footed. Clearly, B-Wagz can go from zero to full throttle in the blink of an eye. His ability to pick an angle amazes me.

Actually, he throws his hands out at Tre. If Tre had followed the traditional coverage position, staying upfield, instead of behind the receiver, he gets picked. They were attempting a pick play, but Flowers football prowess kept it from happening.
