I'll just say that I'm sorry for not posting links. But JJ Watts his number one and Calvin Johnson is number 10 and nowhere in between is Russell Wilson.

To me a nightmare is something that not only you both evokes fear but keeps you awake at night. There was just basically comprised list of awesome players that are for the most part one dimensional outside of JJ Watt. There aren't many people in the league that can beat you in three or four different ways lke Russell Wilson and a JJ Watt. The other people listed on there are not what I would consider to be nightmare matchups. You know what you're going to get and that certainly makes it much more tolerable. To be able to know exactly what you have to go out and look for and do to execute against those players is an advantage.

Against guys like Watt and Wilson you just never know what you're going to get or how he's going to beat you. You could even throw Colin Kaepernick, Percy Harvin, Golden Tate, LeSean McCoy, Matt Forte and the Seahawks defense in there.

Can you post the top 10 without commentary (or is that against forum rules?).

For S&Gs, here's a quick guess of the top 10 without looking at the article.

1. Payton Manning
2. J.J. Watt
3. (healthy) Calvin Johnson
4. Ndamukong Suh
5. Von Miller
6. Jimmy Graham
7. Aaron Rodgers
8. Julio Jones
9. Richard Sherman (Edit: or more likely Patrick Peterson)
10. Kelvin Benjamin

Kelvin Benjamin probably isn't the best guess at #10, but he's quickly showing he can match up against anyone. I'd put Wilson at #10 myself.

Watt (i agree)Gronc, Denver pass rush, Dez, KC Pass Rush, New York Jets Pass rush, Cowboy Offense, Antonio Brown (I agree), Jimmy Graham, Calvin Johnson (i agree)

I think its uncertainty thats scary. Pretty much everyone or everything listed there isnt something to worry about. You literally know they are going to what they are going to do and you just buckle down and say lets go.

With Dangeruss you have NO CLUE how hes going to beat you. You cant just say we'll do this one thing and stop him. From play to play he can destroy you and down the stretch of a game is when its most prevelant.

Watt is a no brainer choice on defense. The guy has no weakness, can play anywhere on the DL on any down and is as good against the run as he is the pass.

On offense, the most difficult thing for a DC to plan against is a running quarterback. That doesn't necessarily mean Russell as IMO Kaepernick is a more dangerous runner when he gets into the open field than any other QB in the league. Russell's big advantage over Kaep comes in his elusiveness, his passing skills, and his instincts, but Kaep runs like a deer when he gets beyond the LOS.

I don't think defending Peyton Manning requires as much game planning as does a running quarterback. With Kaep, you have to dedicate a spy to him, which compromises the D and requires some sort of adjustment to mitigate the weakness created by taking a defender out of the original plan. Manning doesn't require that kind of planning, rather the problem with him is that you have to be absolutely flawless in your execution of the plan or else he'll find the weakness. Two different problems.
