Outscored 57-3 while going 0-2 in Pre-season = Hmm...
The starters have been getting slapped around even more than the 2nd and 3rd units have. Having your defense get torched by Manning and Osweiler with the officials making pass defense impossible is nothing too surprising, but last year's Raven's run blocking was HISTORICALLY bad and they ran all over SF's 1st team defense a week ago.
Also, their offense stinks. A lot of that is meaningless because their backup QBs are so terrible, but Kaepernick has not looked all that great either.
It's just two games and this is the time of year to work the kinks out. I think SF's offense will be a lot better than this in real games, but I think the cracks in the armor are real defensively, at least until they get Bowman and Smith back.
If SF starts out 3-3 I think Seattle likely has the division in the bag. This could end up being a big deal.
Sigh.
In 2 games the defense has been missing 7 starters including 6 members of the front 7 and then today 5 members of the first 11
I'd like to know exactly when the starters were getting "slapped around" when over a 2 game span more than half of them haven't even played. Lol.
That. "First team defense" that the Ravens ran all over featured no Justin Smith, no Ray McDonald, no Ian Williams (ie no member of the starting D-Line), didn't play Carradine and Dial who are very likely to work into these units because they have played well the past few games, and were also missing 3 of their 4 linebackers.
It's like dropping Earl Thomas, Sherman, and Chancellor and then seeing someone say "wow, they passed all over the Seattle starters". It's simply ludicrous.
More accurately, like dropping Bobby Wagner, Malcolm Smith, Bruce Irvin and Kam Chancellor (who are yet to touch the field in the preseason). Note that you didn't address the offense in any way. Being selective are we?
I'd expect SF's offense to improve but c'mon, 34-0 to pop your new stadium's cherry?
