It's perfectly okay to feel nervous. I know I am. As much as I have this growing feeling we're going to win convincingly again, there's the small pesky side that is very nervous. Mainly because sh*t happens, period. This is the NFL. If you had a dollar for every game in the NFL that has been a shocker or upset you could buy a house.

As for the offense, I have faith they will put together enough points to win. Our defense will make the Saints scrape for every point they can earn. In the end, I believe we will have more points on the board then they will.

I know they blitzed a ton the first game but I would be somewhat surprised if they do when Harvin is on the field especially with Vacarro out. If that happened I would expect a huge play at some point with Wilson conecting with Harvin. Once he gets past the first level he's gone. Like someone earlier posted we've missed Rice more than people realize and becaues of that Harvin helps more than people realize.

I'm with you. After 33 years of Seahawkdom, I've had my share of "oh, here we go again!" horrible moments. But over the past 2 years the team, the staff, the front office have earned the right for me to trust them.

Heck, I'm even allowing myself to get JACKED UP about Percy starting. I. CAN. NOT. WAIT. TO. SEE. PERCY. BURNING. FOOLS!

Of course, always nervous before any game. But extremely confident. I guess I just don't see the use in worrying all the time, just gives me a stomach ache :)

Don't know if you have NFL Game rewind, but if you go back to the San Fran game and watch the coaches film, you will see the strangest thing. The worst pressure came when they "showed" a 5 or 6 man rush, but only ended up running 3 or in most cases 4. When they actually rushed 5 or 6 we picked it up and got the ball downfield. When they rushed 4 it turned kind of disastrous most of the time. Was the strangest thing.

Just rewatched the game last night. Our pass protection was actually pretty good all game. It was obvious NO was focused on shutting down lynch, which was a huge mistake because RW killed them with the read option and we killed them with the bubble screen. They have to change the defensive scheme or else it will be more of the same. They simply cannot get to the QB with their front 4 with any regularity, and when they sent the house, they got toasted once by miller once by Baldwin. The only thing that really stopped us from scoring more points was costly penalties.

NO only scoring drive was the direct result of 2 denfensive penalties. Sherman (unsportmanlike penality pushing stills out of the endzone) and offsides on on Avril.

Now add Percy to that mix? Heh heh.

To answer the op's question, i do have concerns with the consistancy of our offense, especially the Line. But against NO, I am not concerned in the least. They do not have a good pass rush, they do not have a good secondary, their LB's are big and slow (great against the run) but cannot cover.. I Think we'll move the ball just fine and put up some points.

Just having Harvin in the game will make a huge difference. If he's doing KR, they will probably stay away from him, good field position. Kick to him, good field position.
Regardless what he's doing on offense, they will have to account for him, especially if he goes deep.

I'm back in "prove it" mode with the offense. I hope we slowed down last month because we played some good defenses after a year of largely playing so-so D's. I wasn't thrilled with a lot of the play design in the passing game, and think Russ was hesitant to throw quick routes when the D gave them up. If he comes out and throws the ball when he see's the D giving up quick breaking routes and we get Marshawn around 4 ypc, I think we win. If Russ holds the ball and we don't use the middle of the field in the passing game, it could be a long day. But, I think we are just a better match-up that the last 4 teams we played and should be able to slow them down enough to get a short field most of the game.

I do trust our offense, because I think it can win super conservatively running the ball with a safe short passing game...........and I think it can also win with Russell running around making plays with his legs and deep passing game. It just depends on what the game dictates.

Good points, I would also add, we played Arizona, San Fran and St. Louis. These are teams with REALLY good defenses. We got stung a little, but don't get it twisted. The Saints have a good defense with a good defensive coach, but it just isn't at the same talent level as the other teams we faced.

I wouldn't read to much into the last 4 games of the season until, god willing, next week.

I trust our offense against any non-top 10 defense, without question. The problem is that we faced a lot of top 10 defenses this year (like pretty much everyone in our division, plus Carolina, Giants, etc.).

Luckily, New Orleans isn't that type of D.

I'm not completely convinced the offense has solved its 3rd down issues. But it's nice to know the defense can be more heavily relied upon than this time last year.

I also think how they handle Jimmy Graham will go a long way to deciding the outcome of this game.

Ummm no...replace "ANOTHER negative/worrying thread" with Seattle Sports History and our 0 pro titles except the one in OKC. Good Grief is DEFINITELY A CERTAINTY

Im confident we win this game- but the Seattle sports history ( to quote Apollo Creed in Rocky 4) "isnt something we just turn on and off like some radio." That feeling of worry is there and will be there to stay until we win a championship. At least for me

It's all on Russell with 3rd down. We had one of the highest 3rd down completion percentages all year up until the last four games. If he's slightly off with his decision making and accuracy, then that struggle will continue (throwing for a 20 yard incompletion instead of running for an easy 1st down on 3rd and 3). If he's sharp and makes the right decisions? Then we're good.
