Nah, a fan on his couch has decided that DK hasn't earned a spot. Forget what a bunch of coaches who know 10 time more than the rest of us know about football think.

Easy to dismiss a fan on the couch. But have you considered he could be of the more productive variety? Possibly he was posting from his cell phone on the crapper for just 1 example. :irishdrinkers:

And if DK does eventually start, it wont have anything to do with a silver platter. It will be because he outworked the others in practice and playtime.

Not so sure I agree with outworked. Could be but also could be he simply outran them!

What has Metcalf done to warrant making the team at this point in time ? He will be selected to the 53 only by hopeful projected performance and nothing else . He will get a hall pass .

The NFL in general does not make a practice of automatically cutting every rookie who gets injured in the preseason. The entire league would look very different if it did.

LOL...nice try with your translation of what I think . I know fans like you anointed Metcalf on draft day to be the savior for the Hawks . I know my grand sons did but they are teens . I only can deal with reality ; and reality is that Metcalf hasn't done anything yet to deserve a starting position served on a silver platter .

I thought nothing of the sort.

I thought his athletic profile was intriguing, and while admittedly his demonstrated skillset was limited, it seemed tailored to what the Seahawks require (deep routes, back shoulder, comebacks, leaping catches).

I had and still have concerns about his hands.

I expected him to be a diva however, and have been pleasantly surprised by his work ethic and ambition.

But at the end of the day, you have still failed to answer my question.

Because I did not offer a "translation" of your posts. I simply reposted them with a simple question.

What exactly are YOU saying YOU think should happen with DK?

I think that Metcalf SHOULD have to compete and beat out the other rookies and vet WRs to make the 53 man roster. Do YOU understand that ?

And if an injury prevents that from happening during the preseason, YOU think he should be released?

Who are you to say that he didn't already do that before the procedure? How did he perform in camp against the other receivers? (Not just games, because production in preseason games don't mean all that much.) What is his effort in meetings? How much studying does he do? The last two he could still be doing even if he can't practice.

You seem to think that "compete" and "beat out" means only on the field. There are multiple ways to compete. I can promise you Pete looks at all levels of competition, not just the ones we fans can see.
