I love to say I told you so, he should have been dealt before the trade deadline last year, when needs of specific teams were high, and time was short.

I wonder if it's just coincidence that the Cowboys restructured Dak's contract today to free up cap space to add 36.6 million to their cap....I can definitely see the Cowboys making a play for DK to pair with Lamb and Dak...
Nah. Lamb is already making crazy $. DK probably wants in his ballpark. That would be way too much money tied up in the wide receiver position.

Losing DK wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would be one more hole to fill. It's just too much to get done in one off-season. Unless a miracle happens and Schneider crushes it it with his first four draft picks. Not likely. Defense will really need to ball out.
Are you sayin' its gonna be the early 90's again ? I'll have to get my Tez jersey out.

Honestly, if they get a 2nd for DK, I dont think it would be impossible to replace his production using that pick on a new WR. Monster talent but, to me, never lived up to being WR1. Drop his big salary and go with a new guy and use the tight end more in the passing game.

They should already have a crew working on Tyler's name in the RoH. But last year he was just average. Not hard to fill that spot. It's going to feel weird to not see him out there though.

Keep Bobo at WR4 where he fits best. I'm just glad his parents weren't big LoTR fans and named him Frodo.

I dont think any of today's news puts the Hawks in a tougher situation than last week.

Geno Lovers have to be excited! When Geno has a bad year they will just point to DK and Lockett leaving. "Look! Look! see It is NOT Geno's fault!!! We lost DK and Lockett. How can you expect him to be good?"

My official guess is that he reunites with Pete. Dude is worth a couple of firsts but last year was an off year and this is a "What have you done for me lately" league.

The Raiders get the trade done with a 2nd round pick.

Yeah, I get it....but it is the Cowboys we are talking about and I am sure Jerry is tired of being the bridesmaid...who knows?

what Mecalf wants vs what his agent has said... could be two different things to be fair. Realistically unless Schefter was in the room with DK, JS DK's agent Shefters throwing partial shit against the wall with the contender bit.
I have yet to see a report of a player wanting to go to a rebuilding team or a bottom feeder.

So…Bobo lovers…where you at?

Losing DK wouldn’t be a good thing contrary to the posts on this thread,

Unless we net a 1st (not happening) or a 2nd and 4th as someone mentioned earlier.

Some of you will get your wish.
The games we played last year without Mr. Metcalf.

Brady probably offer a 3rd and one of Raiders' young WRs or Mayer.

or

The Raiders offer a 2nd and Mayer for DK and Geno.

I have no clue what DK will net in return. The FA class is terrible and the draft doesn’t look good either. It’s possible they get a first? If they do and they can sign a Dionte Johnson or someone like that then it could turn out very well.

From .NET:

1. DK's games have so many holes, and he has temper issues that hurt the team.
2. DK deserves a 1st + useful player. if not a 1st and a 3rd

Any team who wants DK will have to drastically overpay him.

That is the problem the Seahawks are having, he wants more than the Seahawks think he is worth

Letting DK seek a trade is a good strategic move on Schneider's part. DK wants AJ Brown money, $32 million a year. Maybe he'll discover that he's not getting that anywhere he goes.

I like DK and I hope he stays. But I also don't think it makes any sense to spend $30 million on one receiver. Paying WRs became a thing after Tyreek Hill got his money. The price on WRs really shot up quickly after that.

Now, in the last year, many articles were written about how the WR position doesn't merit such a large share of the salary cap because the difference between a great WR and a good receiver isn't enough to justify the gap.

In addition, a high-priced WR isn't going to be the missing piece that catapults you to the Super Bowl. Much was made this year about how so few of the best wide receivers were in the playoffs. Jamarr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, CeeDee Lamb etc. The idea is that not having a good offensive line will keep you out of the playoffs, but not having a good WR will not. I don't think anyone thinks that AJ Brown is the reason the Eagles won the Super Bowl.

So I hope DK sees that he's not getting $30 million from anyone and signs a more reasonable deal with the Seahawks, but we can't use that much cap space on one wide receiver.

I have to admit I am not super familiar with Mayer. His stats so far aren't great with a couple receptions per game and decent yards per catch which is surprising since coming out of college where it seemed like he was a pass catching TE with great blocking skills. Him and Barner may make for a decent 1-2 punch at TE and both are good run game TE's with some pass catching ability. If that is the best we can get for DK at this point then I would be good with it, Raiders have the #37 pick so not far into the second round. I would be really interested in giving Fields a look. I became a fan of Fields when he took that massive hit in the game against Bama and stayed in the game and ended up throwing for 385 and 6 TD's plus ran for 42 yards. Seems like he would be a great option on a prove it deal. Sure, his passing game needs refinement but he is only 26 years old. I am not as down on Geno as some on this forum but at this point I think he is too old to be of any use when we actually have a shot at contending, so I am good with a bit of regression if it means we have a better shot to be a contender in the future.

I personally like DK and think he brings a ton of value because teams have to focus on him. But I’m not a massive fan of monster WR contracts either especially with so many holes to fill.

Looking at Auiyuk(sp) teams offered 2nds+ and I think DK in a weak class probably Lu gets a second plus compensation. At that point if he doesn’t want to be here use the saved money and the extra high pick to fill some holes
