You guys think it's more than just a coincidence that DK's trade demand came right after Lockett was released? I know those two are close, and maybe releasing Lockett just rubbed DK the wrong way. In either case, I believe there's a very good chance that DK and Lockett end up playing for the same team next year.

I think it's DK's agent's way of trying to hit the Seahawks while they are 'desperate' for a WR more than anything else.

But DK can't really place himself on Lockett's future team, so if this is really about that and not just trying to get a huge bag, it's a bad move. Lockett is a FA now, DK is asking to be traded and unlike Lockett's cap number, the Seahawks are probably willing to pay DK's full cap hit next year (as painful as that number is) if they don't get a trade offer that they think is worthwhile.

DK’s first extension contract with Seattle if I can remember correctly, DK officially spoke on it one time and said he would let his agent work it out and it seemingly didn’t take too long and the deal happened. That first extension might have played a factor with this time going public with a trade demand. Who knows what really happened with these meetings between the Seattle front office and DK’s rep(s). Reps for DK may have been led to believe Seattle would pay DK top money (not sure how much top money) and Seattle under this new HC direction may have said something different.

All it really means is a clean fresh start for Schneider to rebuild under Mac with how Mac wants his team comprised of.

It’s very interesting now!

not a chance. When is the last time a receiver garnered a 1st round pick in a trade?
Like 2 years ago. A.J Brown was traded for a first. Seahawks have no reason to just be giving him away.
He is under contract and can be tagged the next year. Or even if they let him walk that gets us a third.
He won't be traded for peanuts. It's not going to happen.

Is it just me or is this team going backwards..regressing instead of progressing...at least it feels that way at the moment?

I think its a natural progression. We all knew the offense was going to be shook up eventually with Lockett being released, Geno being a stop gap, and DK wanting insane money that he's not worth. The defense seems to be on the right track so hopefully the offense can be rebuilt in the same sense. I was giving Macdonald three years before really judging him and it looks as if he's going to need every bit of that.

I get the feeling they’re more concerned with how the fans feel and less about Lockett. After all, they released Tyler. Not that it wasn’t the right move but, I doubt they looked at is as a special day.

Now, when one of your other WRs requests a trade, the same day you lose another, now you’re fans are asking questions about who the QB is going to throw the ball too.

I don’t buy into the whole ‘respect Tyler’ vibe they’re giving off.

Edit - as in they’re mad at DK because he was ‘disrespectful’ to Tyler. DK and Tyler seemed to have a good relationship. I’d bet he also talked to Tyler prior too.

This.

I wanted him to stay, and see how things went under the new OC.

But, **** it - time to rip the band-aid off I guess.

TBH - and I've said this several times - Both Tyler and DK lost me at the joint presser where Tyler led with basically "**** YAC - my high school coach said to get the ball and get down". And DK nodding his head.

I know it sacrilege - but the duo lost their mojo 3 years ago under Waldron, and IMO, never got it back. Hitting the deck. Lazy ass route running - the whole package.

I don't think the new regime possibly fit them - and you never know what happened behind the scenes - but it seems like Accountability might have been something the duo was allergic to.

Don't know where we go from here. But, we got the cap space. Next man/situation up.

Even DK knew Tyler was almost guaranteed to be released. This is just him and agent gambling and trying to blackmail the team right now when they are down. It's not going to work.

Hard to imagine thinking this organization has anything but the utmost respect for TL. Sometimes things are just what they seem.

Part of me wonders if they didn't let DK know that they were releasing Tyler. Everyone knew it was gonna happen but something he could have been butthurt about if they didn't.

I also think they'll let him explore the trade market and see what they can get but if it isn't what they're looking for he will be playing in Seattle again next year.

I think DK let them know at season end he wanted out. They still gotta trade him and the most recent reports are the price is a rd1 and rd3. Hopefully it gets done otherwise just a big distraction. Wr class this year is reportedly quite weak. Kind of wondering at this point if they blow it up a bit.

DK showed his true colors with the timing here, not that it should surprise anyone following the team closely. With DK it's always been ME! ME! ME! and to hell with everyone else. His inability to control his temper has cost us big time in many games, with ill-timed personal fouls that opposing defenses easily goaded him into committing.

DK is what we always knew him to be -- immensely talented but grossly immature, and asking for a trade the day after Lockett gets released is par for the course. The timing of his demand will impact what we can get for him, since other teams know he wants out. It will reduce the Seahawks' leverage in any deal, and the team will ultimately have to take what they can get for this low-value bum.

Either we're not serious about trading him or are starting negotiations high. No way we can expect to actually get that.
That would be nice. My guess is he could fetch maybe a low 1st or high 2nd at most. A 2026 first from the Raiders would be nice too. Then we could root against them all year like we did with the donkeys after the ME3 trade. That was fun.
