I was in the trade DK camp for the past year or so, maybe longer. I was in that camp because even though he is a decent player, I didn't find him worth the money the Hawks were paying him, and I still feel that way. However, now after leaking he's requesting a trade not long after Lockett's announcement, I REALLY hope he gets traded to the highest offer that comes. I don't want a player with that kind of selfish attitude on the team anymore, we don't need selfish players on the team. I have a little bit of resentment for him now and I would be disappointed in FO if they give him the payday he wants even though he doesn't deserve it, just because of fear. Set an example with him, NOBODY is above the team.

The best we can hope for is getting the Eagles or Chiefs to trade their first round for him. Really, any of the teams that just missed making the Superbowl.

Schefter added DK wants to go to a contender.
what Mecalf wants vs what his agent has said... could be two different things to be fair. Realistically unless Schefter was in the room with DK, JS DK's agent Shefters throwing partial shit against the wall with the contender bit.

I'm very mixed on where I think Seattle should go if DK doesn't stay. I think my opinion on what they should do with Geno would change very little (extension, with most guaranteed money next season, a moderate commitment for 2026, very little-to-nothing tied up in 2027) but my outlook for the team as a whole would change tremendously if we lost DK and Geno.

It would be disappointing because I feel like our defense got figured out last year and if we hadn't run the Grubb experiment on offense, I think last year could have turned out much differently. We seem poised to turn that page.

If you lose basically the entre core of your offense, it's hard not to see next year as a lost year and step one in a rebuilding phase with a very uncertain outlook.

We'll see.
Agreed. The defense is just coming together. The DK thing couldn't have come at a worse time as far as team building goes.

Swap 1sts with the Raiders. They get DK, we get Mayer and their 2nd round pick.
My question is, with Tom Brady on ownership coming from that history with how the Pats did business, is he going to be ok with signing a $100M+ contract for a WR?

Because I'm pretty sure that's what's going on here. (I mean, we could wait and see what other moves are made, maybe the team has already decided to go into rebuild mode but they've done nothing to that effect so far).

I mean, the contender bit... I just don't buy it. That's a line from his agent to drive up the price from the crappy teams who might take a shot at him.

Literally coming off a 10-win season, best team not to make the playoffs, he has to know the majority of teams are worse than us. Further, if we make a trade for picks, we are going to be targeting teams with better picks than ours... I.E. worse.

He literally has more of a chance to 'go to a contender' by just playing out this year and hitting the FA market next year.

Im of the opinion still that outside of chasing a big payday, hes being emotional about Lockett being released. He could've done it tomorrow or any other day that wasn't the yr 10yr for Lockett. If it wasnt emotional due to lockett being released then imo its selfish of him to "take the day" and attention off Lockett.

Probably get a 4th rounder
Even with a large salary in 2026 he'd be worth a 3rd. With this year being his final contract year any team acquiring him would be in line to receive a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2027. Added to 1 year at $18M I still think he's worth a pick around #56.

That's oddly specific, who are you really and what do you know? JS is that you?

Posturing is normal, he said contender and we are, he is looking to get paid, Kubiak had plans for him, let it shake out, if he did leak or his agent did John will be pissed but understand he is playing poker with eyes watching Seattle in releasing Lockett.

This stuff is already getting ridiculous. I'm seeing fans here and on other boards acting like he called a press conference after Lockett's news came out. This trade request was not reported by DK. Do people think he has control over what the press decides to do with the information they get? Should he have called all the media outlets before requesting the trade and ask them nicely if they could please wait until a more appropriate time to leak it?

I wanted the Hawks to trade him for years. He will *never* live up to his potential here, and he isn't worth the price tag. He also makes too many stupid penalties.

Trade him and get it over with. Do it before the draft so we have more picks to reshape our roster.

I mean, it came from his camp. Almost certainly his agent.
