I have to admit that I didn't watch the whole MM/Klint interview, just the first few minutes -

"I’ll tell you this: We talked. Every candidate had an idea how we’re going to use DK definitely at the top of their mind,” Macdonald said Tuesday, per Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune. “It’s great to hear different visions throughout the league of how guys saw him. “I think Klint has the best vision out of all those guys.”

"Furthermore, Kubiak described Metcalf's strengths in a way that makes it sound like he'll be a major piece of the offense yet again."

“A lot to work with. A lot of great skill to work with,” Kubiak said. “Down-the-field threat. Strong, physical player. Extremely excited about getting to work with him, and his physical presence. Brings a lot, can bring a lot, to our offense.”

But DK ain't goin' anywhere - and I think that's a good thing.

I'm getting more and more pumped to see Geno and DK with Klint. And a fullback. And And And!

Yeah I think he stays but we just don't know at this point. Try floated the possibility of trading Geno last year and nothing materialized. What's that tell you?

It doesn't make a ton of sense to trade DK based on what they get back money wise but teams can get creative. I want to see what Kubiak can do with DK but at this point nothing would surprise me.

I hope he stays, but I think he has more trade value than those who just don't him think he does. If that makes sense.
I wanna' see if we can have an OC who actually can use him correctly.

People telling me all the stuff DK CAN'T do, and how he has 25 personal fouls a season, in 3......2......1.........

Honestly - I think some of his 'performance management' has been a bit of sulking in shitty shitty shitty offensive plans.

I'd probably phone it in after a few years of that shit too. And I've been fairly hard on him.

And your second statement - TOTALLY on board with that. Been saying that for a bit. We got an OC who wants a FULLBACK! And a running game! And praises the downfield threat and the physicality of DK!

Klint looks sedate, but everything that I'm hearing from him says 'smashmouth'. ******* love it. It's about time.

And to have MM say that Klink had the best 'vision' of all of them? *swoon* :)

Im hoping klint saw those too and can really get him on track cuz i really believe he wants to win or he wouldn't have the physique he has.
So if he can just get his hot head under control we could really be difficult to deal with
If he had kupps head on his body he could be the best WR in the league

Show me where DK sulks? He's never been like that. And if he does, it's very brief and fairly rare.
Does he drive me crazy sometimes? Absolutely. But this strange narrative that he's some whining diva out there just isn't accurate.

DK's temper I think is mostly overblown in terms of negative effects on the team.

I think the occasional bouts of undisciplined route running and the weird inability to make catches with his hands is what brings DK down.

If he fixed either one of those 2 things, he'd be a Pro Bowler every year. If you fixed both, he'd be 1st Team All-Pro... but there's basically no way a professional wide receiver going into his 8th year in the NFL is going to all of a sudden stop catching everything with his body, that's got to be hardwired in at this point.

The route running, though...

I think with a solid OC that isn't running a crap game plan, DK will thrive and settle down. The guy does everything he can to buy in, but you see it on the field when he's over it.

if you don't think they are shopping DK, you are mistaken. They are. How seriously? unknown, but they are listening to offers. If you're going to get rid of him now is the time. I'd like to keep him if we restructure his deal.

Agree 100% he has been a good sport and likely knows he has wasted years under OCs that couldnt design their way out of a paper bag.

Hope he sees the fruit of this change.

I'm reminded of what Mike Holmgren once said: "Everyone lies." He was referring to the draft and potential trades.

In other words, we have to take Mike Macdonald's comments, along with every other coach and GM with decision making authority, with a grain of salt. There's no way of knowing whether he's being very genuine, if he has no intention whatsoever of trading Metcalf, or if he's simply playing a game of poker, trying to raise the asking price by making teams think that we don't really want to trade him and have to be talked into it.

I like DK, he is a helluva weapon & he hasn't even reached his potential yet. I think he's worth a 1st rounder and wouldn't take less than a high 2nd or lower 2nd & change for him.
I'm at the point where a bruising O-Line with a smash run game that forces their will on 4th & short on our own 40 is more appealing than a air show.

If we did get draft picks from a trade I would want them in 2026 as this is a spotty to weak draft and we need ammo for a QB in 26'.
We should draft a day 3 guy this year just to give the nickel slot machine a pull before we have to move to the dollar machine. I don't think this should be just about finding a starting QB, but trying to upgrade both #1 & #2 spots.
I'm looking at dual threat guys.
