It felt like he was trying to convince everyone Kaep was an Nfl caliber QB instead of letting Kaep show it on the field. It Was borderline embarrassing.

Honestly, even as a Niner fan it's hard to listen to Dilfer. During the draft he's constantly talking about how great their draft is. He isn't necessarily wrong all the time, but he's WAY over the top to the point that even as a Niner fan its difficult to listen to.

Nope. I don't mind them at all either.

Most of the time when people complain about announcers I want to know who they actually LIKE, because it seems like a lot of people just complain about everyone.

For me, in order:

1) Gruden and Tirico
2) Collinsworth and Michaels
3) Aikman and Joe Buck

I don't think any of these combos are expressly bad, just some are better than others.

Dilfer and Berman had to have been a recipe cooked up by Satan, though. Between Berman's blabbering and desperate attempts at catchphrase creation and Dilfer's screaming and QB obsession (he's like everything that's bad about Gruden with nothing that's good about Gruden) they were just the worst. What a disaster.

If I'd change anything about the traditional setup, I'd keep broadcast guys as the play-by-play folks, but replace former players with former coaches as the color commentary guys. Keep the former players to in-studio pre-game corny joke cracking and halftime summary highlights. TBH I just don't think they have the insight into the strategic elements of the game that former coaches do.

Try Matt Millen and Tim Brown as the announcers if you want to hear bad.
