On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Jacksonville’s EverBank Stadium for Week 6, with Fox Sports providing broadcast coverage of the game. Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was set to serve as the game’s color commentator, working alongside play-by-play announcer Chris Myers. However, Sanchez has since been removed from the broadcast, and has been replaced by three-time Super Bowl champion offensive guard Mark Schlereth.

I think this is an upgrade, if you ask me.

To be honest, I don't care who the announcers are. I used to, back in the days of Howard Cosell and after him, John Madden, and used to complain vociferously at some of their antics (Madden's "boom" used to annoy me to no end) but anymore, I don't pay that much attention to what the announcers say outside of the relevant facts, ie player's names, down and distance, that sort of stuff. All the other comments, especially those from the color man, seem to fade into some sort of background noise.

As far as Sanchez being replaced, it's not really news. Of course, he's going to be replaced, and as you said, it's almost a foregone conclusion that we've seen the last of him in a broadcast booth.

How much time in jail would a normal guy get for felonious assault. Who knew one drunken night of wind sprints in a back alley could turn so violent
I'm still wondering if he was on some other types of medication/drugs that would cause this but I digress....

Glad to have schlereth aboard. He's always been impressed with Darnold.

I read that Sanchez as part of the team 6 crew would have been off anyway since there are only five Fox nfl games Sunday.

Schlereth seems to always bring up Denver...I hate. But, he's from Alaska and played college ball at Idaho so he's as local as national media gets. There won't be the normal ignorance and bias. He'll also have more understanding of OL play (and therefore DL) so it'll be more insightful than most analysts given the Seahawks current/recent pain points. ...but might not offer much on DB play. Compared to most, it'll be an upgrade.

Schlereth is awesome. He has had incredibly honest and valuable insight when it comes to the Hawks especially Russ, Geno and now Darnold (he thought highly of two of those three... ) as well as the O line and offense in general
I was worried about who we would get after Sanchez because I think he did a pretty good job and was pretty well informed when it came to the team. Schlereth is an upgrade .

If Sanchez does draw jail time, that's likely going to be one of the reasons. They don't want to give the public the impression that rich, former professional athletes get special treatment in the court system.

The defense doesn't have a lot of leverage as all the evidence...and there's a ton of it...points to Sanchez's guilt. The prosecutor will be under no pressure to cut a deal.

Except that's what usually happens.
