Pete comparing him to Polamalu is huge praise.

I remember him being asked during the LoB's prime, who the best player he ever coached was, and he said Polamalu.

I trust Pete's evaluations of DBs. And if he wanted Witherspoon because he saw shades of Polamalu, then that should alleviate any fears (except injury) in the caliber of player we just got.

He apparently is an intellectual player, not just a freak athlete.

I suspect he’ll adjust pretty well with just a bit of “NFL” coaching.

It also seems he practices at almost full speed/level. If that’s the case I suspect a few scrums in OTAs, probably will all get settled before the season starts.
