Dunno. Seems kind of odd all this comes out after DK goes on a podcast and says the reason behind his request was due to the new regime. Then out of nowhere it's Brady Hendersons "understanding" that........
Damage control, my friend, damage control after the QB you wanted to sign turned down a $45 mil offer without a counteroffer. Yes, Schneider leaked that. Damage control when the team's WR1 asked to be traded on the same day of Lockett's release.

Both quit after the team signed a NEW oc.

For Geno it's easy to understand why he jumped at the first opportunity and flipped the bird at the GM:

At the NFL scouting combine, Feb 2024, Schneider was asked about Geno Smith's status as the starting quarterback, and he responded, "Yeah, I mean, I would think -- yes, he's the starter until he's not".

Schneider said it after Geno was honored by the Pro Bowl, the statement was the ultimate disrespect in a league where every player wants respect.

I think the turnover and changes of OC and him not being featured in the offense made things harder for him here, his family is league savvy and I would bet along with Russell told him if they are going to feature the control passing game and run heavy offense you need to leave while you are still young and marketable.

DK was targeted a lot, problem was his catch percentage in the 50 to low 60% is terrible and not a good stat for an alleged #1 receiver. He just wasn't reliable.
Geno's fault? timing and ball placement issues?

I think John was right to do what he did. I don't care how good Geno looked in a couple of advanced stats because he was terrible in others and just didn't produce. He's had one great year, one good year and that's it at 35 years old. Now the Raiders are fighting with Geno so its apparent they don't think he is worth whatever he's trying to get either. Paying Geno 50 million dollars at his age and lack of consistent production would be a terrible idea and thankfully John had the guts to not do it when it was the easy thing to do to remain status quo.

Even if Darnold, who doesn't have a great track record of consistent production either, doesn't pan out they have an easy out and can go get the next guy.

John handled this whole thing well and players not being happy is nothing new, every team deals with this stuff.

I tried questioning the "almighty" Brady Henderson and his "sources" over at fieldgulls regarding this but got shouted down.

Didn't know Brady Henderson had a fan following... 🤔

Geno was never in the same stratosphere that Russ was. The best Russ is light years ahead of the best Geno.
It has been almost 4 years and people still fold her arms and kick their legs on this fact. Pure gold.

Was that for me for some reason? I know RW was light years better than Geno. But was DK's catch percentage a lot better with Russ?

DK's catch % by year.

Wilson can run circles, Geno can't or won't. Taking the circle act away, light reduced to sound; Then take using the middle of the field into consideration, sound reduced to sub-sonic.
