Trades?

The 2026 offseason is underway. Free agency starts officially in a few days. We have already seen a couple of trades between yesterday and today in the league. We know who the Seahawk free agents are that might leave or might be back. That’s really all we know right now.

The Rams traded for a CB because JSN gives McVag night sweats. The Bills traded for a WR because Allen needs targets.

Does JS trade someone we weren’t expecting to leave because of a lack of draft picks? Does he make a trade of player(s) for player(s)?

Is there a positional group that team management deems strong enough that they could use a guy as trade bait?

Lots of things can happen between now and the actual start of the season. Any bold predictions? Any lame predictions?

I predict all of these coming true

Crosby would be amazing, but by all accounts, interest in him is drumming up hard and we just don't have the assets to compete with most teams. Id be very surprised if we're willing to engage in the drastic overpay to give the best offer.

EDIT: I should clarify. We absolutely DO have the assets, just not in regards to what should be considered tradable assets.

Get Crosby on the best defense last year, what do you trade, Spoon, JSN, Darnold, Davis and one of the others. Oh and picks, not worth it for a 28 year old that will lesson you to possibly upgrade one position.

Are you suggesting that trading for Crosby will cost all of those players and some draft picks as well?

I expect JS to trade our first rounder for more picks. We're going to lose most of our FA unless JS wants to ruin the cap with overpays, and we'll need to keep drafting replacements. Currently not enough picks to do that.

As for player trades: Milroe for a 5th on draft day. We're not keeping 3 QBs again, and Milroe has a lower floor than Lock. Can't worry about the player's ceiling when you're gonna be dealing with their floor. Milroe can't come in and run the offense if Darnold gets injured. It would just be a bunch of runs, and we no longer have the QB room for that (at the very least Charbs is recovering and we may lose Walker). Lock remains backup and Milroe is sent to a team that is better set up to see if he develops.

I hear you, but I'm willing to bet John didn't draft Milroe for a 1 year rental. He's in development and I'd be surprised if they traded him at all before his 4th season.

They are not letting Milroe go for a 5th round pick. That would be a colossal misuse of draft capital. They got him in the 3rd round last year as a developmental guy. You don’t just trade a guy a year later for a pick two rounds lower than you drafted him. JS is much smarter than that.

Milroe could be traded for something higher than the pick used on him. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this happened. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he stays a Seahawk and they continue to develop him as is the plan.

“Milroe is sent to a team that is better set up to see if he develops”? WTAF?! I can’t imagine a better scenario to develop a QB that behind a bona fide starter, and a functional backup. From top to bottom 1-3, I doubt any team has a healthier QB room.

I think Geno will have a market when he is cut. Some teams will think he was just in a bad situation in Vegas.
