Harvin really paid off for one Big Game. Duane Brown was really stable. Some of these guys I'd really forgotten about. We got Marshawn so cheap because Buffalo was trying to be moral. Even in college Beastmode was evident. Nobody could catch the football and Rice couldn't either....strange year that was. Deon Branch, Carlos Dunlop, ....can't say they they made a huge difference. Graham had 10 tds one year I was hoping for more.

Traded Frank Clark and a 3rd to the Cheifs for LJ Collier. Our worst trade ever.

We got two first round picks for Galloway from the Cowboys and one of those became Alexander the Great. Galloway blew a knee first game for the Cowboys. Maybe this doesn't qualify as a go get em trade. Andre Carter?

I thought he got released by the Oilers, but they had to trade for him? That one confuses me
The Oilers were going to release him but the Seahawks QB/WR coach was his college OC. He convinced Jack Patera to trade an 8th round pick for him.

Leonard Williams is my favorite go for it pick. JS put it on the line. Not a lot of people liked that 2nd round pick for him especially cause he was a rental. But then JS even signed him. He is a culture setter. His leadership is invaluable

People here fundamentally don't understand what a 'go-for-it' trade is.

Yeah, the title kind of suggests a pretty narrow kind of trade. I kind of widened the parameters of it to include trades the Hawks made to acquire a player/vet to help the team in the more immediate sense by sending the other team mostly future draft capital, and possibly other players/considerations to round it out. Basically the choice of present improvement over future potential/possibilities. Or something like that.

I've never really looked at all our trades of this kind. I thought it might be fun when such a list was done to categorize and rank them in some way. Hey, it's the off-season. LOL

Duane Brown is a good one. I didn't quite know how to phrase these kinds of trades. Probably should have broadened the parameters a bit.
Yeah phrasing this trade is difficult but I get the spirit of it. I think it’s gotta involve a trade that cost us some good value and had an intention of boosting the whole unit. I think Leonard Williams is a perfect example of a go for it trade that worked out short term and long term. I think EJ was not a go for it trade because it was more of a necessity in the moment and he was cheap for what he’s meant to this team, what a steal.
I think Jimmy graham is a good example too but of a huge swing and miss. Jamal adams too. Percy to me was more of a superfluous trade, he cost a lot but I don’t know how they saw him elevating the whole offense. Maybe special teams? They spent high value on him and Deion branch. It makes me think sometimes that wr is not as critical of a position as the value given to great receivers like Justin Jefferson. How many times has the greatest receiver failed to elevate his crappy team?

I like the original intent of the question
