Very nice deal. Didn’t set the market nor should be but he’s solid. Still a lot of cap space. I think Bryant and mafe are gone, not because we don’t want them but because they will get more than we are willing to go. K9 is 50/50. He may get a nice deal elsewhere, more than we are willing to go but I feel for the right deal we would love for him to be back.
I think Coby is most likely to leave. He has had a good season.

Mafe has had a poor season. Not sure people will pay him. He most likely wants a prove-it deal and start somewhere.

Walker. There are 2 RBs just like Walker in Breece Hall and Travis Etienne in the F.A class. The other RB options aren't bad. I don't know if RBs get paid this off-season. Plus it's a decent RB class.

Woolen. Can you afford to let him go? He most likely gets the biggest contract.

Unless something changes Crosby has said publicly that he is staying a Raider

I’ll look for the quote at some point but it doesn’t matter really, he said it.
Yeah, but that was before they ended his season against his wishes. It is of course, just my pipe dream, but I am still rooting for it.

That's admirable for Crosby.

It's not up to him though.

Well yes there is that aspect.

And while I was looking for the quote I did see there was a bit of a cucuffle between him and staff when they told him he was sitting on IR to end season (he needs knee Sx).

On the other had he just signed a 3 year big $ extension.

Things have fallen apart the last 2 weeks with the team putting him on the shelf and him wanting to play. He publicly state that he doesn't care about tanking and the draft. He may have changed his mind

I hope some teams massively overpay for Walker, Woolen, Bryant, and Mafe.

Be careful what you wish for, those players will need to be replaced.
I’m aware. We have the capability of replacing them, plus if they get massively overpayed, we can start stacking comp picks.

I’m on the fence with Woolen, though. He would be tough to replace.

I'm actually faintly surprised Cross got that much money, given that the run game has frankly improved the last few weeks with a backup in his spot.

Then again, even a merely "decent" franchise LT commands a premium these days, so it's not like I'm mad.

We are at the point in our roster development where it is time to start letting good players go for comp picks, and we have the cap space to get us through next year, and ahead of the comp pick eight ball.

The current front office has proved to be capable of finding gems in the draft. Let’s leverage that into replacing good players with good, hopefully great, rookies. Keep the churn going.

Yes, we won’t start seeing returns for a year. Use our cap space to offset the loss for a year, and buy us time. Then we keep letting guys go in free agency every year, so we always have comp picks in the bank.

If Jones and/or Kight prove to be all that, we should be able to easily trade Cross for a nice bevy of picks.

Don't forget Bryant too, although I have to imagine he'll want a more of a commitment that he'd actually be starting.
I’m curious about whether Bryant has played himself out of the price tag the hawks are willing to pay.

I thought he’d get cut by MM before last season because he struggled to tackle effectively. Glad to eat 🐦‍⬛ on that and think he’s thrived in this D. His $-tag and the emergence of Okada might force the hawks to move on.

I hope they find a way, but realize we won’t be able to keep all of these guys as the rook contracts expire.

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times. Its all about value. I have favorite players, sure. But if they are traded, player for player/player for draft pick(s)/player for $ and the team comes out better off for it. Do it. My only concern is OVERPAYING for someone. However, with this current management, I'm not overly worried about that.

Great news. When we took the 5th year option I worried a bit this wouldn't get done.

I wonder if Chuck now will relax a bit and play better since he now knows he's gotten the bag?
