Don't forget Bryant too, although I have to imagine he'll want a more of a commitment that he'd actually be starting.

Got to imagine JSN is next, possibly Hall and Spoon. Then you have some big decisions on walker, woolen, jobe, mafe.

That's just the agents number for Cross as well. Likely cheaper

Mafe was really quiet this year. Lost a lot of reps to Nwosa

They probably wait on JSN. He is only in year 3 and they have the 5th year option. Same for Spoon.

Personally I would do it sooner than later because it only goes up. If JSN has another monster year he is going to command $40m.

I think mafe, woolen and walker are the ones that won't get extended. I think woolen gets big bucks elsewhere and I just get the vibes the team dont love walker.

In the case of Bryant, I would guess that not coming to an earlier extension agreement means that both sides expect to test the market. Three defensive backs are currently playing out their rookies contracts. And, three of the four waiver claims the Seahawks lost were defensive backs. Lot of demand there. Especially with all the 5th, 6th and 7th defensive backs that have become more common place.

A lot of competition for DB talent in play.

Mafe started the previous two seasons on absolute tears before fading. I had hoped this would be the season he'd put it together.

There's a number I'd be happy to have him back at, but given that he plays a premium position, I'm betting that another team is willing to fork over more than we would.

They do need a DE if he leaves. Nwosu can be injury prone and there's always the risk age catched up to Lawrence next year. Not sure if the draft would be the place to get that next year.

We are in great shape to keep our core players

Lots of dead money goes off the books

We didn’t sign DK or Geno to massive contracts

We have a solid QB at 30 mil a year which allows us to invest in other players

No stupid spending this year

Fair contract. I was thinking $22M/yr +/-. Maybe a slight overpay, but reasonable.

We'd probably have to give up a lot to get Crosby, given how late our picks are going to fall.

Very nice deal. Didn’t set the market nor should be but he’s solid. Still a lot of cap space. I think Bryant and mafe are gone, not because we don’t want them but because they will get more than we are willing to go. K9 is 50/50. He may get a nice deal elsewhere, more than we are willing to go but I feel for the right deal we would love for him to be back.
